It seems like from my experience on 2k13 that contact affects pretty much if you make make contact or not that's it, it has very little to do with actually getting a hit. Power on the other hand seems to affect getting hits more because from what I can tell the power sliders is really more of a sweet spot slider, the higher the power slider the more often you hit the ball on the barrel of the bat no matter where the pitch is as long as you make contact. People thinks this makes you hit more HR but in reality the reason you hit so many HR on higher power is because you're hitting the ball on the barrel so often. For example if Chris Davis hits a HR 1 out of 5 times he hits the ball with the barrel then with power at 70+ he hits the ball on the barrel on nearly every successful swing which means even though it may be the same ratio of solid hit to HR, you get so many more solid hits with power higher, it's not what people think where they just assume ground balls are gonna be hit harder and stuff like that. With power around 50 Chris Davis may only hit 1 to 3 on the barrel in a game and most of the time the solid hits just result in base hits and not a HR every time and I can actually go games without hitting a HR with Davis but still getting on base with him.

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
I think I've found something in my slider set. I lowered the cpu pitch success - but also lowered by user hit success. I need to do some more testing, but suddenly I'm seeing hits I've never seen before. I keep user power at 40 - that's the key. It's the lowest threshold you can go. But the spraying of the ball to all parts of the field has suddenly shown up - and the different types of hits.
I also upped user pitch movement - I'm still toying with a couple things - yeah, I know - after all this time many have walked away. But that's why I don't focus on 10 different games for slider sets - it tends to take me a LOT of time to get it right - none of this microwave sliders to appease the masses so quickly.
I'll post with an updated set - I think I'm really, really close.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

New updates on page 1 / post 1 - note that user & cpu batting power are in "test" mode. But I think it's pretty much set on the other items. Let me know what you see with these, but recognize that we're all on different ability levels. Thanks!STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

I really like the new set - love the way they play.
I think the user 30 contact is the definite way to go.
The problem I'm having is this: put cpu power at 85 - they just don't seem to belt the ball. Put it at 90 - and you'd better pitch really smart because they'll cream it.
But most of my experimenting is with the set on page 1 / post 1. Be sure to double-check all your numbers.
And I'm using the user 30 contact and cpu 90 power.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Yeah, I am also using the 90 power for cpu, 30 contact for user.
game plays great, will be interesting to see what you settle on MK!Comment

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
After more test games, I think I finally nailed it. The changes are minimal, but I've tested a few things for hours on end. You begin to see similarities in games, and you also begin to witness trends. We want the game to play spontaneous, but we also want things to provide us with a "fair challenge." Based upon some things I tweaked, I think I finally nailed it. Sadly, we could use those extra numerical values - that's the killer. One change and everything really plays with drastic consequences. But I'll post them when I get the opportunity to. I think it's as good as it will make this game...STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
Can i get some help from someone here. I am having issues saving my new updated sliders from mkharsh and for some reason they won't save properly. every time i save then try to load them they just revert back to the set default sliders. Any help would be great guys.
Thanks,

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
I checked out the latest set for 13.
CPU Power doesn't necessarily translate into more home runs right it just means the balls are hit harder?
You seeing a lot of successful steals with catcher throwing set at 25 for both for the User and steal aggression for the CPU at 45?
Assuming you don't chase any balls out of the strike zone what % strikes does the CPU average against you?Comment
