    Blzer's Pro sliders: One-button swinging

The other thread is still up for those that want to do two-button swinging. It is an early set, so it's not that great. I believe this one is much better, and portrays the realism of the game a little more.

    First, things to note:

    - Not meant for regular use of the Power swing.
    - You want balls pitched? Paint corners, use effort. Your ace won't throw as many for many reasons. If your confidence is low, be prepared for a fright-fest!
    - Ensures gap hits for both teams. Fielders are slower, so if you get aggravated, remember that this game isn't giving many doubles out of the box.
    - Make sure you work your counts!

What do you mean by one button swinging. Is there an option to take the power swing off? Or just don't use the power button?..

Just try your best not to regularly use the power button. There is no option to turn it off.

Just tried these sliders and I think they are AWESOME. The only tweaking necessary is to tone down the amount of walks given up by the computer. Other than that these are great, too bad the passed ball/wild pitch glitch still exists though. I just finished a game in extra innings, 10 innings to be exact, and the computer threw 22 wild pitches/passed balls, yes i said 22!!! That is just ridiculous.

I'd suggest the AI Corner slider to go up maybe 3 - 5 more notches, and the Throw Strike Overall to go up at least 2 or 3 more notches.

I would try these sliders now but it's 2:02 AM here. But I will give this and the other sliders a try when I get up.

Re: Blzer's Pro sliders: One-button swinging

I'm really enjoying batting with these sliders. I've had some great battles against the pitchers my first 2 games of the season (playing as Arizona). I've drawn 4 walks each game, and gave up 2 with Ortiz, and 3 with Webb. The first game I got shut out by Prior. He pitched a complete game 6 hitter, with 5k's and 4bb's. The Cubs won 4-0. The second game I won 6-1, knocking Wood out after 5 innings, 3r, 2k's, 1bb. Brandon Webb went 8 and 2/3, giving up 1 run on 6 hits, 7k's, 3bb's and hit a batter. I scored 6 runs on 13 hits, with 4 walks.

                        Notes:

The only thing I changed at all was using Low Zoom camera (67 zoom), but that's just a personal preference.

There have been no home runs hit yet by either side in 2 games, however I have not used the power-swing button once.

The pitchers are no longer superhuman and now they seem to be only catching balls that are realistic for them to be able to grab. I have seen them stick out their gloves and miss quite a few times, which is great.

I have given up 1 wild pitch in 2 games. There have been I think 3-4 per game while I've been hitting, but I did not advance the baserunners on any of them.

If these sliders are meant for exclusive 1 button hitting, we may have to bump up the power sliders a bit, but this is after only 2 games, so that's an early impression.

It looks like this game is one wild pitch fixing patch away from being fantastic. By the time that patch comes out, these sliders will get tested, tweaked, and perfected, and there will also be updated rosters by then. Hopefully, the patch comes sometime not too long after opening day.

                        Bugs:

I noticed a couple of things that the patch will also need to address. 1) In franchise mode, the game times are messed up .7pm games start at 4 on the west coast, and then when I go back east, games that should start at 7pm start at 10pm. 2) With the bases loaded and 2 outs in an inning, Jose Cruz Jr. hit a double which scored 2 runs. I attempted to get the runner from 1st all the way home but he was thrown out to end the inning. Cruz Jr. was credited for 0 rbi's, even though he should have had 2.

Don't worry... tinkle with the sliders. Remember, you don't HAVE to use the sliders exactly as they are. I'm still tweaking myself.
