    Quick Update...

I have decided that the MLB Rosters will be complete with correct players and updated ratings (using Career Stats in most cases), and the AAA, AA, and A Rosters will have correct player names and positions for nearly every player participating in Spring Training. I am not, however, going to update all the player ratings for every minor league player, as updating the MLB Rosters is time-consuming enough. Plus, whoever uses the rosters can easily update the ratings for their favorite prospects.

One final note, some Single-A and Double-A Rosters MAY have retired MLB Veterans. I have lowered key ratings on these players, so they will not simply jump up to the Majors if you start a season or something like that. It was necessary to have some of these retired players on Minor League Rosters in order for the rosters to have the correct number of players. I play pretty much exclusively with MLB Rosters anyway, so it doesn't bother be to have Jeff Bagwell on someone's A Roster.

Other retired players will in almost every case be in the Free Agent List, with lowered ratings, of course, so some CPU team doesn't pick up a retired player during your season.

    Until next time...

good, this sounds great, one thing you can do for rating edits is SIM a season and look at stats to see if your ratings are realistic

Good idea, Raiders! I will definitely plan to do that. I am using Dylan Bradbury's Ratings Generators from MVP Mods, so I'm expecting the best. I know how dedicated he is to quality ratings, so I am very optimistic about the overall outcome of the ratings updates.

In addition, as I have been updating the rosters, I have noticed that the updated ratings of many of the solid MLB players who were already in the game (Manny, A-Rod, Pujols, etc.), are not changed much (if at all) when their stats are entered into the ratings generators. This leads me to believe that the ratings are spot-on.

Further, I have played some games in between updating different teams, and the games have come out with very realistic statistics (I play on All-Star).

Thanks again for the great idea!

So how does the game look like on a Plasma 42" HDTV? I was playing the Gamecube MVP on the Wii on my old 25" CRT but traded it when the first MLB Power Pros was released. I'm thinking of searching for a another copy. Can anyone confirm if the game has vertical black bars on the side when playing on a HDTV? Thanks.

I play on a 36" LCD HDTV, and it looks great. It looks best in the 4:3 ratio, but I usually play with the 16:9 ratio, which stretches the picture just a bit. All in all, still looks great for me.

I play it on a 46" LCD, but I don't have component cables yet so it looks pretty bad

                Quick update...

Updates of Batters' Ratings is almost complete across the MLB.

                Next up, Pitchers...

In most cases, it will be about 11-12 pitchers per team (Starting Rotation and Bullpen)

                More to come...

It really is, haha! I only have the Blue Jays' and Nationals' batters still to complete before I move onto pitchers. I'm debating whether I should only update pitchers' pitching ratings or their pitching, batting and defensive ratings...

you could update just a few batting and fielding ratings, for some pitchers that have really good fielding and batting averages

That's a good idea, and that's pretty much what I was thinking. Thanks!

MLB Batters completed as of now!

Wow, that was a lot of work. Now, on to the pitchers...

are you updating accessories or just ratings?

How would one transfer over the rosters anyway?

                                Raiders,

I have updated the vast majority of the accessories based on photos from mlb.com, google, and video from espn.com. I am going to go through the pitchers one time when I finish their ratings to check pitcher deliveries. The deliveries may not end up being 100% accurate, but they'll be very, very close.

As of now, I have updated the pitchers for Anaheim, Arizona, Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago (N), and Cahicago (A).

                                More updates to come.

*The rosters are on my gamecube memory card, so you would have to send me your memory card if you wanted the roster file. I have not yet decided exactly how that process is going to work, but I'll post it to the board soon.
