hey guys, i dont think anyone has mentioned it yet, but if you host the all-star game you make money for the game. i'm not sure if it works by switching the stadium on your own, but if you get lucky and host one year you get more money.

Bump
Really usefull info in here guys.
Anyway, I'm currently 2.5 mil in the hole after 26 games. I made a bad mistake at lowering ticket prices early to get the fans to come. They came but I would of made more money with jacked up prices and a smaller attendence than I would with lower ticket prices and a higher attendence.
You really have to think about a few factors. You're roster, the team you're playing and and your daily finances. Its already been said but if you're playing a team were the inpact is 5 or more, jack the ticket prices and I say lower the concessions and store prices just a tad. Although I have'nt experimented much with raising both at the same time. Usually, when I lower one, I raise the other to balance it out. I may have to try jacking all prices up in order to get out of dept.
You really have to study your Income staement and your Daily Finances as they are your guide for how much money you're spending and making. But go to each individual item you're selling and adjust the prices according to the opponent and its history. For example, if I made 5K from selling only 20% of my Ice Cream at 5.00 in my last home game, but I made 6K selling only 16% of my Ice Cream at 6.00 bucks in the game before that with 15,000 fans at both games, always go with the higher price. I know, duh, right. But dont be suprised if you're tempted to lower those Ice Cream prices when a big team comes to town cause you may think more fans equals more sells. Thats not the case. Lower it a little and you could end up with less money than you did at first even though you sold more.
But if you really wanted to get into the owners mode and be sucessfull, I would suggest breaking out the old calculator and doing some number crunching. In order to cut cost, like I plan on doing when I get home, you gotta find the weakest link.
Also, it is important to win games. I really think you'll stay in the hole if your team is'nt in the playoff race. And if you're not winning games early in the season, make some moves. Trade some players away for a big name player and watch your attendence increase. Dont go dumping players left and right to erase the dept, make some smart moves that will cost you as little money as you possibly can. If you got a bench player asking for 1MIL, drop his little *** and pick up a dirt cheap free agent or call up a player from the Minors. If you got a non-productive player in your lineup making 4MIL, dont hesitate to trade him. Waiting for him to heat up will end up costing you more money in the long run than it is to ditch him and sign/trade another player for cheaper.
The number 1 thing is to play smart and make sure you're getting the very highest amount of money you can get each day. Dont just stop when you start making positive numbers, keep juicing the fans until you see the numbers fall. Oh yea, beware of road trips. They can be your worst nightmare if you're not prepared.
And remember.....if you built it, they will come.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: Owner Mode Tips
I JUST started Owner mode. With the White Sox if you can believe that (North Sider). But I think it's pretty cool. I just wish there was a way to see the actual attendance after evrey game, not just the ticked sales. Yes I know I could do the math but don't want to!
I think it's just a slow and steady thing. I just bought one Soda, Pizza, and Ice Cream vendor and left all prices alone. Oh and I bought 10K Magnet Schedules for opening day and the place was PACKED. Next game was a little less filled.

Some of the stadium attractions have boosted my attendance.
Once people are in the stadium, and they're hungry, they will buy concessions. Lowering concession prices doesn't always translate to more revenue - often times its exactly what you don't want to do.
Pay for promotions on opening day for the entire year. That way, the money is already spent so if you do go in the hole for a road trip, you'll know that the promotions will still happen.
This is a great, different mode. Its not dynasty, its a different game. Loving the change.Arsenal FC
New England Patriots

On your schedule screen(claneder), when you highlight an already played home game, the attendence will show up on the bottom of the screen for each game. Plus you can view your attendence for the last 4 home games on the pricing screens. Press L or R(Xbox) to cycle through the avilible charts.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Thats where my problems started. After my first few home games, I made a mistake and lowered my concession prices and raised my ticket prices. I made even less money off of concessions than I made the previous game even though I sold more.
Pay for promotions on opening day for the entire year. That way, the money is already spent so if you do go in the hole for a road trip, you'll know that the promotions will still happen.
I wish I knew that at the beggining. Promotional days are almost gauranteed to fill your stadium up. I think a perfect stratergy would be to use a promotional day after each road trip. That way you can make your money back quicker in one game than you would if you were to accumulate a entire series. Plus another tactic could be using your promotional days against weaker teams. Teams with a 3 impact or lower. That way, you can get ppl to come to the game to see weak teams. Also, dont be afraid to raise the quantity of your promotional gifts. I noticed on my first go around, I gave out 1,000 free T-Shirts and drew only 17,000 on opening day. I raised that number to 5,000 T-Shirts after I restarted and the attendence shot up to 19,700 on opening day. So dont be a cheap wad. Give out the freebies and more ppl will show up in hopes of getting one. And when you get those ppl to come, highjack the concession stand prices. See, I'm already thinking like a MLB ownerhttp://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment
