I don't think it requires explanation.

The issue of contract recalculation could be valid, but I feel that if you want to value player's equal, go through and readjust contracts before you start your dynasty (should take about 20 minutes to a half an hour). This way, every player is contracted on the same scale.

If you don't want to do this, don't expect that younger players will be paid as much. It would simply create a weird formula for EA to compute (think the difference in contracts already in the majors...there are bargain players and there are vastly overpaid players).

The issue of editing as "cheating" is non-sensical. Allowing editing is the key for roster changes, and more importantly, allows the possibility of reproducing minor league players after the games release. This makes the inclusion of the minor leagues teams fun.

wow. as others have said, chalk this down as one of the stupidest things to complain about. it's a great feature. for those that want to be lame, they can go ahead and have their fun. for those that just want to leave it, leave it, and for those who might want to make some subtle changes on instances where EA dropped the ball, you can!

this is like people who complain that b-spec mode in GT4 is cheating. if you don't like it, don't f'ing use it.

I think they do it so people can add or edit players based on how they do this year without having to start all over again.

Example: I fixed Rick Ankiel when he annouced he would not longer be playing as a pitcher, but I didnt have to start the owner mode over.

Personally I LOVE it becuse it lets you have complete control which I think people should have. I mean who cares what someone else does in their owner mode?

If you dont think you should edit players in owner mode, as people said before, just dont do it

first of all this guy deserves some kind of a beatdown! I LOVE this feature and as stated above(somewhere) it needs to be in all games! I like it for many reason's example would be an older guy like Juan Gonzalez, he is half the player he once was but he still has insane power. I lowered his contact and other abilities but raised his power up to a more accurate level in my eyes anyways. I think ea had him with like 50pwr and 72pwr? He has a ton of power still and much much more than some weak hitting 2b in aaa that has 65pwr!

Sounds like someone simply lacks the simple will-power to not edit all their players to a 100 overall.

This would be alright with me, since new(fake) players get much lower contracts with really high ratings, leaving you no incentive to take a real player. But if you can edit a player halfway through a season, or even after it starts, what fun would it be to trade for every good player in the league and edit them to get their contract down?
That, as I see it, is the bigger problem.
I have never had this happen to me. I have changed a few guys to test it, but their contract always stays the same for me. I am only playing Owner Mode right now too!

I thought this only happens when you edit them outside of dynasty or owner mode? I thought if you changed them from the roster screen on the main menu and then started a dynasty, their contract will differ than if you started a dynasty from a roster that hasn't had any player edits? I'm not sure though.
