(maybe some pitching hints, if you're not having overly computer offensive games).
I'm getting variety. Depends on who I got on the hill I guess. I think the key is to not be afraid to make them chase stuff. That means giving up a walk here and there. And don't always challenge their best hitters. IF you expand the strike zone, they will be more off balance at the plate. If you ALWAYS throw a strike with a full count say, they know that and will pound you. Don't be afraid to expand it. Just think of when you're batting with 2 strikes, you probably expand your strike zone too and swing at some bad pitches just trying to make contact. THat's about the best I can do for ya.

Interesting, that really does complicate things having 3 baserunning sliders & 1 fielding slider that all play a role in steal success. That plus individual runner speed & catcher throw strength make this one tough to get just right. Thanks for the info! Also I'm wondering, does the pitch speed slider have some impact as well?

By the way, I really like your fatigue sliders, though I may even tweak them a little. I was shocked the other day when I took Cliff Lee into the 8th inning & had thrown 115 pitches. That's the first time I've gotten over 100 pitches. It was purely by accident, as I kept sitting down relievers in the pen & forgot to warm them back up. He was running on fumes, and his arm probably would've fallen off if not for a well-timed mound visit!

i use your sliders for PC and PS2. i get very realistic results on the PC, but on PS2 i just crush the cpu by about 5 runs/game. does it make a difference what console u use these sliders for?

You got me there. I made these on the Xbox. So I can't vouch for other systems.

looking to make these sliders a tad more difficult as well. What are good ways to do that?

I think to improve the computers offense I'll bump up the difficulty on my pitching slider some, and his contact a little.

What about making it harder on me? Does increasing the pitch speed affect contact and power? Seems like there should be a guide for how to make the game easier or harder without messing up the chemistry of the game.

The only way around this is to manually change the pitcher fatigue rate to at least +45 for short relievers when they enter the game

ummm USER PITCHER FATIGUE not bullpen fatigue --- here's from my previous post:

40 for reliever fatigue -- Here's how it works out :

                            pitches/ fatigue %
                            15 / 65
                            20 / 53
                            25 / 41
                            30 / 30

What this does is not allow a reliever to work three consecutive days; One scenario : 25 pitches day 1, at day 2 fatig % will be 78% ---- if pitching 20 pitches on day 2 then day 3 fatigue % would be 64% ; Obviously this would not allow you to use a reliever three days in a row.

I need some input on this ( should fatigue go to 50?); BTW starters at 40 fatigue (while simming) still recover to 100% after 2 days rest.

The only way that you I can see making fatigue work correctly in a season is to adjust it manually during a game: put it at 12 for starters and long relief; 25 for middle relief; and then 45 for setup and closers

Everything I've tried doesn't work. I don't think you can affect the recovery of relievers with sliders. I think it's just a minor flaw in the game.

Re: Jistics 2005 MVP All-Star Sliders

Just wanted to say these sliders are still rocking for me, 130 games into my dynasty. I went 20-7 during the month of July, and I thought they were getting a little easy, but I'm currently 12-12 during the month of august, so it's still super challenging.

Derek Lowe was taking a no hitter into the 6th inning today...he then loaded the bases and gave up a grand slam the same inning. Talk about coming out of nowhere!

Another game I was down 3-1 to the astros. I had two men on and Jeff Weaver at the plate. He hits a grounder into what should be a super simple force out, but the throw to second is missed, which then goes past the outfielders who were playing shallow. All 3 runners came around to score to take a 4-3 lead.

Another game I was going into the 9th, winnng 3-2. Time for GAGNE! He then served up a homerun to tie it, which I then lost in the 10th.

All this happened today. I love this game, rock on!
