McCarver's a ****nut, plain and simple.
As much as I enjoy Sox players names getting butchered, there comes a point where its just rediculous. Someone needs to lie McCarver in the middle of rush hour traffic.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Re: Where are all the Yankee haters?
Don't get me started on McCarver .... oops too late.
Last year McCarver said Morneau was from New Westminster. He then procedded to say Moose walk around that area.
The local newscasts jumped all over his comment and had a little fun with it.
I was expecting him to say Koskie lived in a Igloo, luckily that never happened.Comment

Re: Where are all the Yankee haters?
Originally posted by camulosI'm not sure about the O's. I've always argued that you need a strong starting staff to compete in the AL East, but they just keep winning. If they can keep this up through the summer I'd be surprised but not shocked. Regardless, I don't think the Yankees and Red Sox will both make the playoffs this year. If one or both struggle around .500 the O's have just as good a shot as anyone.
Baltimore's starters:
Chen 4-2, 3.38 ERA
Bedard 4-1, 2.35
Ponson 5-1, 4.93
Cabrera 3-2, 4.93
Lopez 2-1, 4.47
They've been pretty good so far this year."Darth Vader doesn't cry, Peter."

I am a baseball junkie and will root for pretty much any team. There are 2 teams however in which I can not and will not root for one is the Chicago White Sox and the other are those New York Yankees.Comment

Re: Where are all the Yankee haters?
On the Orioles staff,
I think Bedard is for real, for the most part. He won't finish the season with a sub 3.00 ERA but his stuff is good enough for him to win consistently at the major league level. Cabrera is a rising star with nasty stuff, but he has some maturity issues to overcome. Lopez and Ponson are crapshoots, but both have shown they can be, at times, dominant pitchers, but mostly you just hope for a quality start out of them. Chen has always been a guy who just couldn't put it all together, its possible this is the year he does it. With their offense and bullpen, the O's can compete. I wouldn't expect them to win a world series with that rotation, as it has been proven the teams who pitch the best win in October, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them make the playoffs.
You can say what you want to about the Sox starting staff, but they're producing right now when very few are producing for New York. They've more than survived without Schilling and Wells and Wells is coming back this week. Arroyo has been consistent since August now and he's a solid #2 in any rotation right now (I won't go so far as to elevate him to ace status). Clement has shown improvement in almost every start he's made and he looks like he's on track to get 15-16 wins this year. And Miller has looked really good in his two starts from a stuff standpoint. Once his stamina is where he needs it he could easily become the ace of the staff.Comment
