    Best/Worst Broadcasters

Who are some of your favorite baseball broadcasters?

I'm a big Jon Miller fan, and I've really started to like the Orisillo and Remy combination for the Red Sox, atlthough this is my first year listening to them so I don't know how they wear on.

I haven't been watching as many games as I thought I would this season with the MLB.tv package, but I'm going to start watching more from here on in.

I've got some interest invested in this White Sox/A's series, and I've gotta say the Chi White Sox broadcasters are horrible. I've never heard two guys who were more homers in the booth in my entire life.

So like I said at the beginning, who are some your guys favorites?

Surprised to see Buck Martinez on that list, he borderline makes my ears bleed.

Buck can wear on you a bit but I've always liked him especially when he was doing games with Dan Shulman for the the Blue Jays. They had such a great chemistry and made the game fun to watch.

I like Remy/orsillo for the sox, but that and the Atlata announcers are the only ones i regularly hear.

I must say, Buck/McCaver are horrible.

Vin Scully does a terrific job (always has).

Florida's announcers are pathetic as are those horrible White Sox announcers.

I like Dave Neihuis (sp?), Rick Rizz, Jon Miller, Bob Brenley, Thom Brennanan, Dave Van Horn, among others.

I'm sure I'm in the minority here but I don't like Vin Scully. He puts me asleep.
The worst announcer by far is Tim McCarver. I have no idea why he's the lead color guy at Fox.

                        Re: Best/Worst Broadcasters

I find Thom Brennaman to be one of the most sanctimonious broadcasters I've ever had the displeasure to listen to. I simply can't stand any guy who sprinkles his opinions, especially when they are critical of players, such as "Player X has to get the bunt down there. That was a total failure by Player X". This type of broadcasting bothers me, because I know that was a failure, everybody with two eyes watching knows. A PBP guy should just call the action, not tell me who he thinks is sucking, doing great, etc. Brennaman is notorious for doing this when I listen, though I admit I have only heard him on national broadcasts.

I don't mind Joe Buck as much as most, he's as good a PBP guy as I've heard. I just dislike him when him and McCarver are washing somebodies balls on the broadcast or, as I mentioned above with Brennaman, sprinkling their opinions in. Speaking of McCarver, he is an utter tit. The game has passed him by; please have somebody dispose of him.

I enjoy listening to Jon Miller on the ESPN broadcasts; his home run calls are superb. Joe Morgan's self-aggrandizing really grates on me, but his analysis seems to be top notch. If he had better facts at his disposal ("Billy Beane wrote Moneyball"), I'd think he's even better.

Don Orsillo and Sean McDonough both are solid PBP men, IMO. A true pleasure to listen to. Remy would be better if his voice didn't always distort, gargle, twitch and make horrifying noises of that nature due to him being a chain smoker.

                            Best
Joe Buck- I know he's a little too pop culture but for play by play I love him.
Jon Miller- Great voice, and I love watching Sunday Night baseball because of him.

Worst- White Sox announcers- most unprofessional I've ever seen.

I'd also like to add the Braves TBS announcers to this list. Skip Caray, Don Sutton, etc do a pretty solid job IMO, though I'm not a big fan of their apparent dislike for statistical production analysis.
