Who was the annoucer who would say, 'YANKEES WIN! THHHHAAAAAA YANKEES WIN!'

    The totally disgusted me.

John Sterling. He's so bad he almost makes Kay look good in comparision. Luckily I rarely listen to Yankee games on the radio.

Jon Miller: again, I'm seconding everything that has already been said about him
The one thing you do have to love about the Cardinal radio announcers though is that I was listening last year and after LaRussa had made a bunch a pitching changes in the game the announcer said, "Well folks, LaRussa has made about as many moves to the bullpen as I have made to the Budwieser cooler tonight." Classic.

And yeah, Jon Miller is my favorite, too.

Hawk Harrelson did a radio interview on the Red Sox broadcast and basically said everyone and everything having to do with the White Sox were the greatest things since sliced bread. He said the White Sox have a better offense than the Red Sox, to which the interviewer said "but we've scored more runs" Hawk responded with "but we have more home runs." He's no doubt the biggest homer I've ever heard.

Here's an interesting article about Joe Morgan and how Joe Morgan thinks that all these new stats mean nothing.

I can't believe no one mentioned Matt Vaskersian and Mark Grant. They're fantastic, but then again I'm sure very few of you guys live in San Diego. Padres have an exclusive TV network similar to the YES network, so even if you have the mlb.tv package you'll only pick up visiting teams broadcasts.

But a few of you live in Milwaukee I'm sure, and you musta listened to Matty V. out there. Anyways, not trying to sound like a homer, but they really do make the games much more enjoyable which is the best way to determine a good broadcaster.

I've heard them. As a matter of fact, I'm driving down to San Diego for 2 weeks... intending to see many of their gmaes on Channel 4 (forget what the station is called, haven't been there in a year). Anyway, they are great. There's really nothing to hate about them at all, as a matter of fact. So, they are definitely in the majority.

It's just that, well, Kruk and Kuip, whether they're annoying to some or not, are always interesting, entertaining, and very inciteful. They both played the game, they know what they're talking about (well, so did Joe Morgan but he don't know **** in that booth), and Kuip just delivers that breathtaking home run call so well. It will be a sad day when they retire, that's for sure.

                      Re: Best/Worst Broadcasters

I swear Mike Shannon (Cardinal's radio announcer) is drunk by the 3rd inning. That guy is so slow. He pauses in between senteces to think about what he is going to say, "And Pujols is on for the........second time today." The other radio announcer for the Cardinals is pretty good. The television announcers are alright . They talk about the other team and they don't bash them like many other announcers. They get excited when the other team makes an incredible play or hits a homerun or scores.

I still think that Jack Buck was the best I've heard. I also loved Harry Carey. He was hilarious.

I swear if I hear that stupid "And you can put it on the board....." thing again I will go crazy. They just need to shut up and call the game. That's what they're paid to do.

About all the Hawk Harrelson comments.

First of all I've watched almost every sox game since before I can remember and he's always been the guy announcing the games. To me if he wasn't a "homer" the game wouldn't seem right. But, then again, thats how I was brought up. I've always associated a white sox home run with you can put it on the board. I personally think he isn't the best announcer but I think he knows what he's talking about. About 2-3 years ago the only "homer" thing he would say is you can put it on the board but it was ok like that because he was, IMO, a good announcer with a catch phrase. But now he's taking it too far. Now it sounds like this

Hawk: Schilling with the pitch..... THAT BALLS HIT DEEP GET UP STRETCH STETCH STRETCH!!!!!!......and Dye flies out to Damon and after 3 its 1-0 bad guys

Theres been innings, whole innings, where they dont announce a single play. There too busy answering some 9 year old kids email about why shingo pitches slow and why scott podsednik is cool. Screw the emails, call a good game, and make it a catch phrase again...warning track fly balls dont need 3 get up's and 3 stretchs

You guys are obviously bias as Hawk and DJ. You obviously know all their catch phrases, you know their names, i can't tell you some of the broadcasters names or catch phrases so there doing something right. I know it probably stings a little more when Paulie or Dye goes yard and Hawk and Dj celebrate it. Deal with it, We are the BEST team in baseball and can do what ever we want. Also im a huge baseball fan. Every time i watch a game Hawk is always giving prase to all the other teams players coaches etc. He even gets excited to watch other players that are not Whitesox. Chances are your just mad that your team probably played us and lost your series to us(not including A's fans) and have been the victim of the best HR call around "You can put it on the boaaaaard Yeeessss"! GO WHITESOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, before I forget... even though he now only does radio, in San Diego we've also been blessed with Jerry Coleman for over 30 years. And he was just elected to the Ford C. Frick broadcasters wing at the Hall of Fame. He's still great after all these years...

I enjoy listening to Miller and Morgan doing Sunday Night Baseball.

                                Best
                                - Tom Hamilton, Indians - He roots for the Indians, and he gets extemely into the games, but at the same time, he's not afraid to criticize the team
                                - Vin Scully
                                - Bob Uecker

                                Worst
                                - The White Sox announcers - I can still remember the night they hit a ton of homeruns and they decided to replay each one with the calls on Sportscenter. I wanted to punch my TV by the time they were done.
                                - The old Braves TBS announcers - They make the Scrabble championships on ESPN seem exciting by comparison. I've honestly fallen asleep during the middle of a game thanks to them
