It should be... between him and that ******* kid in New Jersey who is going to exploit some marginal connection to Italy to play for them in soccer I'm not sure which is worse (actually I do, its that punk from new jersey with Serie A and Italy on the brain... somebody who before going to play soccer in that country lived there like no more than a month over his lifetime). I real hate anybody born and raised in the United States that love "their home country" or "motherland" or whatever country wasn't the place that they were born and raised. To me those people should start working on renouncing their American citizenship. It isn't being a traitor... but its close. Red, white, and blue... only when its convenient.

He was also raised in the Dominican.

Jeff Kent doesn't seem seem like a guy that would go based on his age. I guess these teams were based on our best playes at easy POS.

I would rather have Loretta or Giles playing 2nd for the US anyways. You don't lose a ton on the offensive side, but gain a ton on the defensive side.

Why can't I? Citizenship means you swear allegiance to the United States. If he doesn't believe in that then he should renounce his citizenship. I don't care where his ancestors are from... his loyalties lie in some foreign state... might as well make it official and not be two-faced and take advantage of the perks of citizenship. If he loves the DR then that's one thing... fly that flag when you can if you wish... but when you represent that country then you lose all of my respect. If he did this in soccer in another country he'd be branded as a traitor in every major sports section.

If he lived in the DR for a few years I can start to understand it but I still stand by belief that if you are going to hold US citizenship then you should play for that nation and that flag unless you are ready and willing to renounce the citizenship of the United States.

Yes, and I'd be happy if Clemens grooved one at his head for this. If the DR is ARod's country (and this goes for ANY other athlete) then he should make it formal and renounce his US citizenship.

Personally, I don't hate ARod beyond his scummy agent that got ARod paid 25M a year... that is until now.

Last I checked this was a baseball tournament, not a freakin war my man. It's only a game, nothing more. If the dude, or any other guy wants to play for another country I could give a flyin rats a$$. You know why? Because I have a little thing called perspective. Which is something you might want to look in to.
