Hmmmm. Lying to congress isn't a good idea Raffy.

Not like there is anything that can be done about it. Unless it can be proven that he was taking steroids prior to or during the Congressional hearing, he didn't actually "lie" to anyone.

I thought Palmeiro made the most convincing speech against steroids in front of Congress. Mcgwire caught a lot of grief because he skirted around the topic when he was speaking to Congress, but if this is true about Palmeiro, he lied directly to them.

Not like there is anything that can be done about it. Unless it can be proven that he was taking steroids prior to or during the Congressional hearing, he didn't actually "lie" to anyone.

Congress does not like to be forked around... especially with people who don't have much political pull and their actions are blatantly transparent. He might not go to jail, but I'm sure Palmeiro will go 12 rounds with some of the best lawyers in the nation.

It'll be interesting to see what they do though.... We don't know when this test was conducted.

If it was conducted recently, then Raffy isn't too bright. He KNOWS he's right in the middle of the steroid scandal and still continues to take them?

Can MLB change the substances that they test for, or are they restricted to a specific list. For instance, if they found a new substance that was previously unknown and undectable, could they test for it?

I don't think so, but that's just a guess. I think that they'd have to get that passed through the players union. I assume that all the substances they test for are listed in the union contract and if they were to make a change, they'd have to amend the contract with union approval.

Just my guess though. I can't wait to hear what Raffy has to say about this...

I've been listening on the radio and all I've heard is illegal substance and nothing about being banned for roids.
