I wouldn't shed a tear if it was Clemens. He's probably the only player in baseball that I truly dislike.

Re: More steroid users coming
maybe the "bigger" name just has more letters in it
Clemens would shock me, he has very little to gain (that didnt stop Palmeiro though)
Oh well as long as it isnt anyone on the Marlins (especially Cabrera) Im good, but 50 guys (did he mention if they were all MLB) leaves nearly two a clubComment

Re: More steroid users coming
This is from a regular poster at SoSH. Take it for what it's worth:
OK. I happen to know that a rumor circulating amongst the national media implicates A-Rod. Now, I have hesitated to mention this (I heard it last week from a friend of a national writer) because I hate rumors, and I hate speculating about steroid users. Given that this is the topic of the day, I thought I'd share it with the caveat that it is a rumor of unknown origin. When national writers have been suggesting "a far bigger name than Palmeiro, I believe that this is who they are speaking of."Comment

Me too, and I hope it's not Pujols. I have a hard time believing he would be one that would. However, now nobody is safe.President of the Devils Den

It's definatley not A-Rod, he could bench over 300 lbs when he was 16. He's got incredible natural strength.
Anyway, as far as the so called "huge" name, it could be...
I'd say the top of the crop would be Clemens, Ortiz, Bonds and maybe Giambi again. It'd be very interesting if it were Ortiz, just to see how all the hardcore Sox fans who are super anti-Giambi react to it.

If Ortiz was found to have used steroids I would be absolutely devestated. There are very few things that could take away from the joy of the Red Sox winning the World Series last year, but this would. I think a lot of Red Sox fans would say, "Who cares, Giambi was on the juice when he hit 2 HR's in game 7 of the 2003 ALCS." That justification wouldn't fly with me. Honestly, it would make the whole thing feel illegitimate.Comment
