Manny a steroider?
Im sure alot of you guys saw the interview with Dante Bichete and how he said his career was ended by a well known person who takes steroids who was signed by the red sox to play DH in 2001. We all know he was talking about manny so my question is that is he just talking out of his *** cuz he was upset or jelous or is he really legit.

As I've said a million times... theres no way to know. Everyone is a potential suspect.
Until every player holds a press conference and holds up a reprt that says "Passed" on it....no one is above suspicion. So there's no use in speculating wheher he has or hasnt.
t
It just shows how badly of a turn the sport has taken.

Bichete was never known to be a great person, so his comments have little weight to them. Manny's been tested this year and since we haven't heard of him testing positive we can only assume he's come up clean and he's having a fairly typical Manny season.Comment

Re: Manny a steroider?
I think Dante's a little bitter that he will only be remembered as a good player by Rockies fans, he is just another player who's numbers were inflatted by the "Coorsfield Effect"
Case in point: Bichette played 14 seasons: 7 with the Rockies and 7 with the Angels, Brewers, Reds and Red Sox
In 7 seasons with the Rockies Bichette hit 201 Home Runs
In 7 seasons elsewhere he hit 73 Home Runs
Bichette hit 34 Home Runs in 1999, his last season with the Rockies. He would hit 35 Home Runs combined over the next 2 seasons, 1 more Home Run in 373 more At Bats.
Without playing in Colorado Bichette would have been nothing more than a less-than mediocre ballplayer.Comment

Why would you be surprised? After Palmeiro.... no one should be surprised if anyone is caught.

Re: Manny a steroider?
I know Manny takes those greenies which MLB does not test for as it was reported by a local station last year.
Anyone actually think he could be talking about Carl Everett who played on the Boston Red Sox in 2001? He has had a history of being a hot head (ever heard of roid rage?) with that umpire and still gets into it with Red Sox media members when he visits town. Sorry, He does not get into it with the media of Boston b/c he will not talk to them. He talks to the Chicago papers and rips the media through the Chicago paper.
Anyways, Noone in this game would surprise me to test positive for roids. David Wells made a good point tonight in his pre-game rip on Bud Selig. He said that Palmiero tested positive for roids and was still allowed to play and rip the Red Sox the entire weekend by being a steriod user. Then once the Red Sox leave town, it is time to suspend the guy.
Bob Watson hates the Red Sox by the way. Sheffield gets a game for bumping CB Buckner while Wells gets 6. Interesting Yankee Bob.Comment
