      Wang is pitching game 2.

I don't know why. He's pitched well for us this year, but Small and Chacon have both been better down the stretch.

      So the rotation will be:

      1- Mike Mussina
      2- Wang
      3- Randy Johnson
      4- Chacon

If Wang was pitching game 1, it'd be Wang v. Colon....

          Homer pick.

          Angels in 4.

Yankees have to be glad Troy Glaus is gone after what he did to them the last time these teams faced off in a playoff series.

I'll take the Yankees in 4... mostly because i'll be at game 4 and it would be sweet to see them win the series!

I dunno what Torre is doing not starting Small in one of the first four games. He has had such an amazing year. Unless they want to keep Mussina/Wang on a VERY VERY short leash and use him in long relief.

What does this poor man have to do to win over Torre, throw three straight perfect games?!?!?!

If the Big Unit didn't have an amazing September, Small would be faaaaaar and away our best pitcher, AKA he should faaaaaaar and away be starting Game 2. This is a joke, I can see this series going downhill already.

yep i'm betting dollars to donuts that Small is the long relief guy.

I somewhat agree with Torre here actually with the decision with Small.

We have such a problem getting the ball to Gordon in the 8th... Small could be a good guy to pitch the 6th and 7th if someone gets into a little bit of trouble early on.

But anyways... who else is pumped for tonight??

I'm surprised the Yankees sat Mussina against the Red Sox to line him up for game 1. I know he has plenty of postseason experience but he only has two starts in the last month or so and got shelled in one of them. I figured they'd let him make his scheduled start vs the Red Sox to work out the kinks, then line him up for Game 4, if needed. Especially with a very capable replacement in Small.

I know it's Joe West's crew. Not sure who the umps are. The crew chiefs for each series are:

BOS @ CWS - John Hirschbeck
NYY @ LAA - Joe West

West will be the crew chief for the series between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels and would work the plate if there is a Game 5.

Gary Darling, Jerry Meals, Derryl Cousins, Alfonso Marquez and Jim Reynolds also are on that crew, with Cousins scheduled to call balls and strikes in Game 3, when temperamental Randy Johnson most likely will pitch for New York.
