Yankees win, but I'm not surprised Cano made at least one error. Luckily, they didnt lose the game because of it...but if the Yankees have any kind of liability this post-season, it will be him defensively.

I wasn't real worried about Game 1. Yankees owned Colon all year, its Lackey who we can never touch. Wang needs to be sharp, and our bats need to reappear. We barely had anything last night after the 2nd inning. But I'd take a split going back to the Bronx.
As for Cano, relax. If it wasn't for his bat, we may have lost. He's a future superstar, he'll be fine.Comment

What did you want him to do directly afterwards? If we saw a tear rolling down his cheek... thats not a very good sign of mental toughness.

Yes! A tear coming down like the one coming from the crying indian will suffice.

Re: Yankees vs. Angels (ALDS)
An interesting piece of literature for Yankee fans. From Dan Schaunessy (sp?) of the Boston Globe (an excerpt of an article)
June 26, 2005 The Boston Globe:
Easy call: Race is a runaway
It's OK to say it. Don't worry about jinxing them. The 2005 Red Sox are going to win the American League East. By a landslide. Come late September, this is going to look like Secretariat at the Belmont in 1973.
After looking up at the Orioles for two frustrating months, the Sox moved into first place Friday night and they are there to stay. Stop worrying about the Yankees, Orioles, and Jays. It's not even going to be close.
And then we have the unfortunate, spoiled sons of Steinbrenner. The Boss assembled baseball's first $200 million roster but as of this morning, the Yankees are 37-37. There is no sign of life, no alternatives in the farm system, and no one who can be moved. They're just a couple of injuries away from morphing into the Horace Clarke Yankees of 1965-66.
So there. No worries about the wild card this year. Start lining up the rotation for October. The Red Sox are going to finish on top in the American League East for the first time since 1995. They are going to break the string of seven consecutive second-place finishes behind the Yankees. And they are going to win by a wide margin.
