    MLB NEEDS instant replay

game two in the angel/white sox game. escobars pitching for the angels in the bottom of the ninth, two outs, full count. escobar pitches a splitter and the batter swings and misses. but then runs to first. the catcher, clearly catches it cleanly. the ump says it hit the ground? and the inning continues with a runner on first. it clearly was a clean strikeout. i am super pissed right now.

why keep the outcome of games in the hands of four humans? its not that big a deal to have replay.

Cause baseball is full of itself when it comes to tradition. They'd rather have screwups than ruin the "integrity" of the game.

Not to mention, they couldn't have helped cheat the Yanks to a title or 2 the last few years.

Un-f'n believable!!!! You have got to be kidding me...this will be all the talk tomorrow...that ump called him out at home. Huge play...huge missed call. If this series swings the other way the umps lost it.

Whoa, take it easy there man. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. It's not like Anahiem definately would have won the game in extra innings.

true ehh, but the game was extended directly because of the umps. the inning should have been over period.

I know that, and I'm not agruing that. I 100% agree that you guys got screwed on that call.

But JMW said if the Angels lose this series it'll basically be the ump's fault, which definately isn't true because no one knows if the Angels would have won later on in extra innings.

oh no way will the series be decided on this play nor do i agree with jmw. but this game for sure is what im steamed about. burnsey gave us almost 5 innings allowing only 1 run with a 102 degree fever i believe. escobar came in and k'd people left and right. 1-1 in the 9th on the road, 4th game in a row, to lose a game like this.... disheartening to say the least.

Well yeah, but it's just the same as them not having the opportunity to win and have the game decided legitimately.

ESPN is asking did he make an out call. It's clear he made 2 signals w/his right hand. Complete incompentance. MLB needs to do like the NBA & send an ump home for clear lack of ability.

I don't really agree with you on that. If AJ is called out, and Crede hits a walk-off homer to start the 10th it's essentially the same thing.

                          Re: MLB NEEDS instant replay

Am I the only one that agrees with the Umps call?

Look at the replay of the catch, look at the blown up replay. It clearly hits the ground just barely and bounces into the glove. It was so damn close that the catcher probably thought that it WAS cleanly caught. Looking at the catch in jumbo vision, slow motion, you can clearly see a small bounce off the ground into the glove.

It was kind of an accidental excellent call by the umps, and Soscia made such a big deal of it out there for ten minutes arguing it that he inadvertantly sort of "spooked" his pitcher, and all that was going through ANY Angel's mind was "we got a bum deal". Of course Crede is going to hit it well when the pitcher is less concerned with pitching in a big game and more with how he might have gotten screwed over.

Whatever you believe, the fact is that this call is going to be argued for MANY years to come. It's going to be one of those moments in Baseball that you refer to on instinct someday.

Anyways...let me just make it perfectly clear...I'm not rooting for either of these teams...I wouldn't rather have one more than the other in the World Series...whichever one makes it is fine by me, they are both great teams. I'm looking at this from an objective point of view, not from an "oh I'm a White Sox fan so of course I agree with the umps" point of view.

how do we know that the angels don't score in the 10th?

Why is Kruk saying that the umpire didn't say out? Did anyone hear any of the participants say that?
