    Paulie Konerko

He's a Free Agent right? He's going to make a lot of money this offseason.

I know White Sox fans may not want to focus on this with them still playing ball right now, but you'd have to figure there'd be a huge lineup of teams that want his services, especially after his great postseason.

He's exactly the big bopper the Blue Jays could use.

Indians, too. A power hitting, right handed bat to hit between Hafner and Martinez. He's a perfect fit.

I'm pretty sure he's going to stay in Chicago, though. At least that's my feeling about it.

The Red Sox will probably go after him, too.

Toronto? Im pretty sure the White Sox can match them plus they probably will get a ht discount. The NY or LA is a different story.

I'm thinking that if the major market teams want to overpay for him then I'd say he's leaving Chicago. I believe he's coming back to the White Sox next year. The White Sox will probably get him at a discount rate but who knows. The Red Sox are desperately trying to get rid of Manny Rameriez and I guess with the money they unload with Rameriez they're going to sign Konerko. Which to me is insane. I already think that Boston overpaid Rameriez, who in my opinion is a sure-fire Hall of Famer. But to pay Konerko that type of money? I love Paulie but he has some years to play before I could even consider him a HOF player. Manny is in right now if he retires.

My best bet is if the major market teams like the Red Sox, Yankees, etc. wants to overpay him for close to Manny/A-Rod type money then go ahead. Otherwise, he's coming back to the White Sox.

I would think the White Sox would have to re-sign him and do everything they possibly can to do that. Especially if he helps bring the Sox a World Series title. But this is the time to make your money ask Carlos Beltran.

As a White Sox and a Bulls fan and knowing what Jerry Riensdorf is capable of, I dont think Paulie will stay after this year. Money seems to be over loyalty nowadays and if teams start throwing gauranteed millions at him, he'll jet in a hurry. Kenny Williams and Dorf would rather rebuild IMO. The cheap bastards. And its not like they cant afford it, I'm sure the Sox are getting money this year that they've never seen before. He better make sure Paulie is happy and accomodate to his wishes.

If that's what it takes to sign Konerko then by all means...sign your name on the dotted line Paulie! I still think that he'll come back to the White Sox but there is some team out there that'll consider giving him Beltran-type money. Paulie a solid player but I don't think he's worth Beltran-type money. Hell, I don't think Beltran is worth Beltran-type money.

Oh misinformed one. If only you knew that the Blue Jays owner is increasing the payroll ten-fold(well actually, by 20 million).

The Jays need him. If he wants 12 million per, JP needs to anty up.

Before the post season began, i figured he would be in the 10-12 million a year player, but now, he's in the 12-14 million easy. if someone is willing to offer him more, well so be it, if someone wants to give him more, let them. not that i want to see him leave, but if someone is willing to overpay, let them. I personally think he will stay for about 12 million for 4 years, something richie sexson/carlos delgado type deal.

                          What the?!

Obviously you have a jaundiced view of Toronto. Toronto is one of the most popular NBA cities. Toronto is also one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the entire world. I'v enever heard bad things about the city from anyone. In fact most of the time the beef players have is with management of the various teams and not the city itself.

Also you should know better that the salaries are all paid in U.S. Dollars. I also wouldn't be so smug about it as the Canadian dollar is kicking butt all over the place compared to the U.S. Dollar going down the tubes. Oh yeah in 1993 (just 12 short years ago) the Blue Jays had the highest payroll in all of MLB.

Take a ****ing joke dude, calm down. Its just that i don't remember any big time player(s)(besides clemens and at the time everyone thought he was washed up) wanting to go to Toronto or Montreal. All you ever hear is the Canadian teams losing all their big name guys. If Toronto was such a big player, why didn't they keep Delgado????? Never Said anything about the City of Toronto being bad, i have been there myself and know what kind of city it is. It's just that its not often you hear someone say, You know what, Toronto is on the top of my list of places to go. Never said anything about the US dollar is better than the canadian dollar either. So go cry about it.
