I just read that. That's a lot of money to turn down.

I think Paulie might return to the West coast. I'm quite surprised he hasn't already signed with the Chi-Sox already.

that doesn't surprise me at all... why would you want to go to a perennial 4th place team?

The thing is everything i've read points to Konerko wanting a no trade clause and none of the teams he wants to go to will give him that. He may very well just have to settle with the Chi-Sox (which isn't a bad thing necessarily)

The guy isn't even 30 yet, IIRC, so I'd have no trouble giving him a 4-5 year deal with a NTC.

Yep its the no-trade clause that he wants and can't get (right now). Probably since he now has a child and he wants to stay in the same location.

Did anyone else think when Konerko first came up with the Dodgers that he would end up this good? It's funny because I remember watching this guy play on Sunday Night Baseball his rookie year and I thought he was a nobody, now look how he has grown.

I doubt he'll get one. Teams don't dish out no trade clauses like they used to, especially since he hasn't had the most consistent career. His best bet would be to sign with the White Sox where he'd become a 10 and 5 guy in 2 years.

Not if they make a move for Pierre.... which has been rumored.

Where did you hear this from? Anderson's strongest tool is his fielding. He is better than Rowand.

I can't say Anderson is a better fielder than Rowand until he does what Rowand did in CF. I'm sure Anderson has all the tools but Rowand played with no fear, and that made him a great fielder. Hopefully Anderson will play the same way.
