Yep, Casey has always hit well at PNC. He'll do fine there.

Things could get interesting for DL and the Pirates.

      From the Beaver County Times:

The trade of Casey could set up a domino effect of two other trades that could go down before the winter meetings conclude Thursday at Wyndham Anatole Hotel.

The Pirates are interested in acquiring Washington's Brad Wilkerson to play right field and could entice the Nationals by packaging rookie right-hander Ian Snell with a veteran starting pitcher, either left-hander Mark Redman or right-handers Josh Fogg and Kip Wells.

The Pirates then could trade first baseman/outfielder Craig Wilson to Boston for third baseman Kevin Youkilis, which would help offset the cost of paying Wilkerson, who figures to get a sizeable raise over his $3.05-million of 2005 in arbitration. The Boston deal would happen only if the Pirates fail to sign third baseman Bill Mueller as a free agent.

If the Pirates aren't able to acquire Wilkerson, they could look to make a larger deal with Boston that would include one of their starting pitchers and right fielder Trot Nixon.

If you want to cool off next summer come on down to Great American Ballpark. Great breezes everywhere with all the whiffs!

Interesting. I'm not all that high on Wilkerson, but I would like to see Youkilis here. I kind of don't see it happening though.

Pirates get Jonah Bayliss and a player to be named later.

Excellent. I got this off of another site:

"Bayliss uses an above-average 91-94 mph fastball with good life that tops out at 96 as well as an above-average slider that reaches the low 80s. His curveball is a 12-to-6 hammer but is still very inconsistent."

He was a 7th round pick by the Royals in 2002.
