I don't understand why Red Sox fans should even think about this. It's not going to happen. No chance. They will never trade him to a team in the same division. Never.
We're talking about the same franchise that wouldn't pull the trigger on a no-brainer A.J. Burnett deal this past year. They're too scared of Tejada destroying them to do this.Comment

Zito and Crosby for Miggy.
I'm assuming the O's can work out an extension first.
The O's finally get a proven number 1 starter in his prime and an excellent young SS that is cost effective. The A's biggest need is a power bat and Miggy fits the bill. He left on good terms too.
The Salaries aren't lopsided either.
This deal makes far too much sense so you know it won't happen.Comment

But wouldn't Lucchino/Henry be doing the same exact thing in dealing Manny to a divisional opponent (Orioles)?
It's not like they would be trading Tejada for prospects, leaving them unable to contend in the division for years.
