You just don't see it happen between teams in the same division. The Red Sox I think would have to just overwhelm the O's to land Tejada. The Red Sox would probably have to get fleeced in order for a deal to go down.

      Tejada isn't going anywhere.

There are already reports in Baltimore saying this was an act of frustration (hence not going to the front office first), and that the O's front office is out to make some big deals in the coming days.

By big, I could mean ludacris and bad for the organization in the long run. But, changes are going to happen very soon, and one of them isn't going to be Tejada.

Yes, but that's because a team is usually looking for prospects when they want to trade away their centerpiece, as part of a rebuilding period. You don't give away a star player to a divisional foe for prospects. Manny however, could easily hit 55 HR's in Camden Yards, one of the top RH HR parks. The Orioles want to win now, and acquiring Manny and a solid pitcher gives them that oppurtunity.

You could be right I just don't see it happening.

No Way....O's won't trade Tejada for prospects or to the Red Sox. It won't happen. Our management blows but we are STILL trying to win not rebuild. Too bad Angelos won't allow any trades for top-tier players.

Tejada is staying folks. This kind of stuff happens all the time. Now if only the O's could acquire Zito somehow...

Re: Tejada wants out of Baltimore

Anybody else thinking what i am thinking??? Astros swoop in and steal another highprofile player like they always do??
                Randy Johnson
                Jeff Kent
                Carlos Beltran
                Andy Pettitte
                Roger Clemens

Plus the astros need another big bat to go along with Berkman. and they have extra money now that they don't have to worry about clemens until may 1st

Re: Tejada wants out of Baltimore

I'd love to see Tejada in Boston. I wanted them to go after Tejada when he was a free agent and dump Nomar, but it didn't happen obviously. However, I consider it extremely unlike he ends up in Boston next season. In fact, I would say its extremely unlikely he ends up playing for any team other than the Orioles.

I thought Texas was trying to trim the payroll. And I don't think they'd trade Teixeira, not even for Miggy. A switch hitter with power and improving defense? Although I'd love to see the local boy come back to town.

Putting personal team interest aside he should STFU and honor his deal. You tell me he didnt know what kind of organization this was when he signed? He just cared about the money then and nothing else. Now because he knows they suck and he knew they sucked when he signed, he wants out? Boo hoo. If he wanted to win so bad he should have signed with a winner 2 years ago. He knew he wasnt winning in Baltimore. Too much crying these days.

Part of me feels this way, but honestly, what have the O's done besides Tejada to prove to the fans that we are trying to build a winning team? Honestly, the fans are MUCH more frustrated than Tejada. But if trading Tejada brings in good prospects, it might make a difference.
