Re: 2006 Predictions
You guys are making a big deal out of nothing.
People have predicted the Mets to win the East every year since 2001, and year in year out, they add some big names, but fall short. Plus, you have to consider that this is the first year the Braves haven't won that division.

Re: 2006 Predictions
Wow, so Mets fans are thrilled that after HOW MANY YEARS NOW.....they're finally winning the division past July? Congratulations. Really.
I wish people kept underestimating the Braves, and kept picking the Mets to win it.Comment

<<<<<< me at some of these predictions
AL Central - Indians
Why people keep predicting division championships for the Mets never ceases to amaze me.
World Series Champion- Cleveland Indians
Honestly, I have a feeling people are really placing expectations way too high for Jonathan Papelbon.
AL ROY - Francisco Liriano *I think he is considered a rookie*I write things on the Internet.

Re: 2006 Predictions
Hahah yeah my predictions were way off. Indians to win the central? Delmon Young for AL ROY (not even called up yet). Um, Jake Peavy for NL Cy Young (how's that 4-11 record Jake?). But at least my surprised teams have done well (Brewers, Reds, Rangers....forget about the O's though, what a waste of time).
About the Mets, I agree, they've added big names every year for the past 5 and didn't do anything with them. I know Omar Minaya is a good GM, but I didn't want to give him credit yet without actually showing me he could do it. Well guess what, he can.Lux y VeritasComment

Re: 2006 Predictions
To be fair, Jake probably deserves a better record. He's had a few starts in where he pitched well enough to win the game, but the offense failed to give him support (just like his most recent loss, 1-0 on a sac fly, offense couldn't hit off Pettitte).Comment

Re: 2006 Predictions
I love to see the Blue Jays make the postseason. But by the looks of that disastrous west coast swing and their stop at Yankee Stadium, I think they're done.Comment
