I second the notion on Gagne. He went from mid-to-high 80s fastball to high 90s just like that.Comment

It was his contract year and he kicked it into gear. Now he's back to coasting. With the Dodgers he always turned it up a notch in the 2nd half of the season to keep his job. I've always stayed as far away from that turd as possible in fantasy leagues. Regardless, he could've been shooting up too for all I know.
It carried on to the next season, and I couldn't help but notice he gained an additional 20 pounds in the off-season leading into '04.I write things on the Internet.

Sadly because of the steroid scandals, whenever anybody gains muscle in the offseason and increases their production from the previous season.
One shouldn't always make that assumption as it's not fair to some players.Comment

Okay, guys... I hope that most of your beliefs aren't based on size of the player. I'm seeing many posts against or defending players because of growth (or lack thereof) in a player. You see Alex Sanchez, Jeremy Giambi, Benito Santiago, Ryan Franklin, guys like that... they aren't increasing in size. Then, you see guys like Griffey that are, and say that he can't be on steroids. I don't know why players just have some strange reputations or something, but... yeah.
Anyway, again, I don't believe that Pujols is, but he is definitely not a guy that is out of the question. And I ask again... are we like, NOT allowed to accuse him or something? Is there something pure about him and not Bonds that I'm not seeing (other than growth)?Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: The Official: "Name one player who you believe has taken steroids thread..."
I don't think Griffey or A-Rod were ever on roids. Their bodies just don't look pumped full of juice like some of the other players. Their numbers have also been consistent over the years both before and after the steroid scandal. It is possible to be strong and athletic without steroids. The sad thing is that we have to question who is cheating and who is clean.
Players that have monsters seasons out of nowhere and players that gain or lose 25 lbs of muscle over a year's time are the players that I am suspicious of. Bonds had never hit 50 homers in a season then late in his career he adds 20 lbs of muscle in the off-season and smacks 73. I don't need a book to tell me he was juicing. It just isn't logical that someone can have their best years and add that much muscle in their late 30's and early 40's
Anyway...I have suspected a lot of players that have already been brought up in this thread. One name that hasn't been mentioned is Gabe Kapler. I know he isn't really a big name player but he looked like he juiced.***My Teams***
