Re: The Official "Welcome the 2006 Season" Gameday Thread
The M's suprised me in this game. I thought for sure that Colon was going to push us out of the game, but the M's pushed back to tie it at 3. Top of the 9th the Angels get 2 runs, and bottom of the 9th Petagine hits his first home run as a Mariner. Kenji hit his first homer, Jose Lopez had a 2 hit night, Ichiro is sporting the high socks agains....5-4....this Mariners team is really fun to watch. I knew they would be, and I think people are crazy to think they will only be one win better. If they perform the way they have tonight against a tough Angels club, they will play better than .500 baseball.Comment

D-Train had a one-hit shutout through five...and then Josh Johnson comes out to pitch the sixth? What gives?
Oh well, still 0-0 through sixComment

Zito looked like caca. What a horrid outing.
I know this is only one game, but why is anybody picking the A's to go far this year? Aside from Chavez (who can't even carry a team by himself), who on this offense scares anybody? They may have good pitching and a good bullpen, but I can see them having problems scoring runs.Comment
