    Re: Bonds on Bonds......

I'm really not here to debate in this thread. I just wanted to get in with my say quickly, and get out. When people respond is when they're asking for more out of me, it seems.

Anyway, I'll stay out of this thread unless it's directed toward the show (and you'll notice that, aside from the first page, I believe I was the only one that tried to focus on the topic at hand with the other thread [in a few posts]).

Must've missed them. I'll take out that word, then.

But uh... you know, mistakes happen. And you can't necessarily blame that one play on him. That's worse than blaming Steve Bartman for the Cubs in the playoffs.

what "mounting" evidence do you speak of ?

do you have photos of bond injecting steroids?

do you have a positive steroid test from bonds?

did you read the latest "book" based on some investigation?

Well he had a chance to make a play and he failed. So he's definitely a factor in it, his poor throwing arm sure played a part in it.

It's not like his arm being considered a weakness is any kind of secret. It's been common knowledge among baseball people since he broke in to the majors.

Again, 5 tool players don't play LF.

I think the Grand Jury Testimony and the testimony of others, which he can't dispute is enough. You can try to hide it with schnide comments, but he did what he did, we're now finding out about it, he's tried to cover it up saying he didn't know what he was taking.

Well, all besides the point, his show is really more focused on (while implicitly concerning the steroids issue at hand) the fans and their treatment toward him. While the season is going on, it seems that whatever the truth really is, he's just hoping that we can put all aside, let the investigation run, and let him play some baseball.

He was in tears at the end of the show! Couldn't even breate, man. That's how claustrophobic he's felt lately.

Just so everybody understands, I really only said what I did in my first post because we don't seem to be poking fun at shows like the all new "Yo Mamma" on MTV. This is a reality show that I can relate to, which is why I'm interested.

League of Shadows. Grand Jury testimony is a large piece of their evidence.

One problem I have with the book, is that information was supposed to be sealed, and they somehow "Acquired" it.

If it turns out he didn't take steroids, I'll be the first to say I was wrong, but at this point I won't put my head in the sand.

The article also features quotes from Steve Garvey, Milton Bradley (LOL), some typical Giants fans (Blzer?), Giants PR folks, and other former and current major leaguers. Worth a read.

It's very telling to me how the only people who are in the mood to celebrate this accomplishment are the people who can (a) make a buck off it, or (b) watch their favorite team benefit from Barry's performance in the standings.
Awkward moment for me as he is a Dodger's announcer, but I'm just going to make a comment on the whole "voice of baseball" thing. Just because he's been there and called those shots does not make him any natural, exciting, OR good!

When I was a kid (of course, I still am), I bought my first baseball game that included a two-man booth... MLB '99. When I first played the game, I was like "WHO IS THIS GUY!" He was just incredibly boring to listen to. Did not know who he was or what he did as a real person (I didn't even know of things like videogame programming and such, I was just a naive little child full of mystery and wonder).

That said, I don't want to hear him call it either. Even if he was a Giants broadcaster, I would be put to sleep by it. Don't worry, I've heard the Kirk Gibson home run call many-a-times. Great moment, terrible call.

This is just another one-sided opinion that I think nearly everyone on the entire face of this planet disagrees on, but if you can supply me with good enough reasoning as to how he is such a great man to listen to, I might be cooperative.

BTW, if you believe a professional athlete as meticulous as Bonds is, was taking steroids without knowing what they were, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

But its like what you said earlier, at least I think it was you, if Bonds didn't use steroids then why hasn't he sued the hell out of the authors for slander? That to me is by far the most damning piece of evidence against him.

Agreed.Although Slander is spoken word. He would sue them for Libel which is written, from what I understand,.
