Willis and Cabrera on the trading block?

Rosenthal said he expects both guys to be shopped around either this season or in the off-season. If both guys get moved for prospects/young players, the Marlins might have a payroll under 10 million next season.

Teams would line up to get both players but I expect Willis will fetch a better package in return. The Yanks could offer Cano, Wang, and Hughes. The Red Sox could start their package with Jon Lester.

They are probably entertaining offers right now, all the way until both Willis' and Cabrera's contracts are up. Really a shame.

It's just sad that they have to do this. The fact that the Marlins have to ship off their best players every 3 or 4 years because no one goes to their games sucks for baseball. They would be a major challenge to the Braves and Mets if they could keep their core team around. With that being said, D-Train and/or Cabrera are gonna make a contender very happy this season. I would love for the Yanks to get D-Train but it would suck to lose Robby AND Wang.

It wouldn't hurt for the Pads to get those two... but they've got no one to offer that's worth the Marlins while.

Just think if the Marlins and Expos/Nationals had great ownership and what not, for the last 10+ years. They could be/of been amazing.

Its sad that its come to this. I feel bad for all the Marlins fans as this is just pathetic.

The Yanks wouldnt do that. The FO is in love with Cano and they love how fast hes development. Torre is extremely high on Wang and the FO also sees Hughes as a future ace as correct or incorrect as that may be.

Bottom line is, the Marlins need to move. They're ownership isn't going to invest money in this team until they have a new park, which they're not going to get in Florida. Just move them and be done with it.

I agree 110%. Just move them to Las Vegas and get it done with.

Either that or Norfolk, or NC.... Get the Marlins fans that actually care about them. 2 World Series in 10 years and this is how they are treated? Pathetic...

Second time I have heard this in regards to Willis, given that this is Florida, it isn't too surprising.

Where their is smoke their is fire when it's concerning the Marlins.

I remember them denying any rumors about trading Delgado in the off-season and we all know how that turned out.

Move the Marlins to Las Vegas, but pull off an NFL and keep them in the NL East division.

No, because I want to make road trips to LV for Mariners games. And gambling.
