Why you would even consider breaking up what Johan and Liriano could be astounds me.

Why you wouldnt give up minor leaguers for a 22 yr old proven .300/30/100 guy astounds me.

There are not many players I would want straight up for Cabrera.

Ummm Yes quite. People would come because it would be a new sport in thier city. It would be just like a new expansion team. Of course they're going to suck but people want to see them because its a new experience.

novelty will only take you so far. Eventually you have to have players that draw and win some games

Or it is more likely the fact that if we traded for Cabrera we would almost certainly lose him as soon as he became a free agent. He would not be worth that rental price at all to me.

Please tell me why it would be worth basically renting him?

Well yes, but as soon as they move I expect them to become aggressive in the FA market. Thats what they do. They load up, win a WS, have a firesale, load up, win the WS, etc.

Because the Twins need a 3rd baseman. The Twins also need power hitters. Miguel Cabrera, is a power hitting 3rd baseman. The Twins would still have a pretty good pitching staff, and they would have a middle of the lineup that would be amazing for years, with Mauer and Cabrera (who Peter Gammons said, in 2004, were 2 future Hall of Famers.

Not picking on Cam here, because there were several threads about Willis and possible trades for him but this was the first one I found but,

Today I was thinking back to all the talk about Cano and Wang for him, and it looks like it wouldve been not such a good move.

                      Willis- 3.80 ERA 152 K's 1.40 WHIP

                      Wang- 3.64 ERA 68 K's 1.31 WHIP

Cano- .336 BA .856 OPS 70 RBIs in 110 games.

I stand by my statement. Willis is the kind of guy you build a rotation around, regardless of his stats this year. Wang and Cano are nice players but I'd still take Willis.

Lets see Wang play for more than one season before making judgments.
