I've been there as well. For God's sakes, I don't even think the parking lot was paved. It was horrible. And approaching the stadium from the interstate was blinding. The sun reflecting off the roof nearly blinded me.
Like you said, the atmosphere was flat out bad. I saw them vs the Red Sox, and it seemed like there were more Sox fans than Rays fans.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Somehow, I'm not surprised.
The Metrodome is pretty bad. The outfield is ugly with the baggy wall and the extra seats. Changing the turf there was a very good idea because it was just plain horrible before.Originally posted by billmaticRadman is more like the ******** homeless man's version of Okur.Comment

Re: Worst Ballpark
The old park in Milwaukee (County Stadium) was awful, worst park I have ever been to. I haven't been to Tropicana Field, but it sure looks ugly on TV.Comment

Re: Worst Ballpark
I haven't been to many stadiums, but from TV I agree with Tropicana and Rogers Centre. They both look so bad and the atmosphere sounds so awful on TV that it's hard to watch the games. The metrodome is pretty ugly, but the crowd usually makes up for it a little, at least when the Yankees play there.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Worst Ballpark
I heard Tropicana Field was terrible. A friend of mines recently went to Tampa on a buisness trip and he caught a baseball game there and he did mention that watching a game there makes you not like baseball. And he's a huge baseball fan. It must be sad that the Devil Ray fans have nothing to look forward to when the season starts. The stadium stinks and the team stinks. What's the worst that could happen?I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. The atmosphere can be very electric when the team is in the thick of a pennant race or hell, even on opening day. If you watched the Jays season opener you saw a crowd that brought back memories of the championship contender days.
I agree the turf is looking ugly this year. (it looked quite good last year. I have no idea what happened.) The cosmetic face lift of the RC has made the stadium less stele then it was when all they had was artificial turf. Players love playing in the RC just for the batter's eye alone. I've actually heard that most players put the RC in the middle of the pack in terms of stadium quality.
As for worst stadium, well that's easy it's the Trop.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
