LOL, those old school tvs are classics. Actually not having a jumbotron and dozens of electronic scoreboards adds to the immersiveness. You pay more attention to the game and thus get more immersed into the game. Every pitch, every batter and every play is all followed closely. At the Cell, its tough to follow cause you got Pizza races and classic highlights and many diffrent distractions. Its still entertaining at the Cell but you will definitely be more intune with the game at Wrigley.

As great/historic as Yankee Stadium and Fenway are on TV, I don't really love watching games at either stadium."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: Worst Ballpark
Fenway is great if you have good seats, but there are some crappy seats in that ballpark. The good seats put you right on top of the action, its a very intimate experience that's really only found there. The Monster Seats are more than just a novelty as well, as the view is great. The Right Field Grandstands are abysmal though, and the bleachers feel very cramped. And then there are the obstructed view seats that are almost pointless. I'd rather have standing room.Comment

Re: Worst Ballpark
I think the Metrodome is probably the worst stadium. Ive been there many times, and the people of minnesota have to make due with it until they decide on if they want to make a new one. I went to Coors field last summer and that place is beautiful, it makes u think what the heck were they thinking up in MN when they built the Metrodome.Comment

Now as in regards to the Cell, most of the Piazza/Bottle Water races and highlights happen in-between innings. I find no problem with that. And I can seem to concentrate on the game more at the Cell because it has much more leg room in the seats than Wrigley.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Kind of straying away from the main topic here, but it still relates to the same thing:
Pac Bell Park (people in the bay still call it pac bell) is the best park in baseball. I've been to Wrigley, Fenway, Yankee stadium, and a few others in the east, but pac bell park is just phenomenal.Comment

Just this morning the Reds where on 700 wlw talking about the upcoming series in MIL and everyone of them said the place is a dump! Dunn said that it is the worst stadium to hit in the majors. Kearns said he couldnt believe the stadium was only a few years old because he said it looks like they spent about 100 dollars to build it! lolND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: Worst Ballpark
I live in tampa and have been to quite a few rays games. Tropicana field isn't that bad. The atmosphere sucks, but thats because there arent many fans there. The only really bad thing about is the lack of fans, which i dont mind because you can move around and view the game from different seats. The stadium itself isnt as horrible as everyone is saying.Comment

Originally posted by DiceI'd have to disagree with you on the point you said about being intune with the game more at Wrigley. Wrigley Field is a tourist attraction in Chicago. Most of the people who are at the game are out of towners. I'd willing to bet that during the summer roughly about 20% of the people attending the Cubs games(especially during the summer vacation months) are people not from Chicago. Two years ago my best friend, who is a die-hard Cubs fan, had extra tickets to a Cubs game so I went with him. Well, during the game there was a group of about 5 people sitting in front of us. And from the way they were talking we knew they were out-of-towners. Now while the game was going on they decided to stand up and take pictures! We and the people sitting behind us are like WTF! Sit yall asses down and watch the game. I had to calm my friend down because he stated ramping and raving about how most the people in attendance are here are not true Cubs fans. He said that most of the people there in attendence that day were tourist because Wrigley Field is like an amusment park. And I swear, he stated to watch how those 5 people sitting in front of us are going to leave after the 5th inning AND sure enough they left after the 5th inning!
Now as in regards to the Cell, most of the Piazza/Bottle Water races and highlights happen in-between innings. I find no problem with that. And I can seem to concentrate on the game more at the Cell because it has much more leg room in the seats than Wrigley.
Everytime I go to a Cub game I'm always around some diehard fans who can quote Kerry Woods stats from his rookie year and always break into a discussion about Ryan Sandberg. I went last wednesday and it never fails, I'm always next to a diehard. They went on about the new renovations and how the rooftop seats will soon be extinct, yada, yada. I went to the Sox game just last saturday(when Paulie hit those 2 shots) and there was just to much going on. They drove trucks out onto the field in center, they had ppl going around throwing towels between innings. You had races, trivia, highlights, player stats....just stuff everywhere. I pay attention to the game but the thing I loved about Wrigley is that since there was'nt much going on between innings as well as no boards to look at, you got to focus on the players on the field, doing what they do between innings. And during the game, since there is'nt a single distraction, I was directly focused on every pitch. At the Cell, I often caught myself wondering off at the sights and sounds. I love jumbotrons and scoreboards so its easy for me to get thrown off.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: Worst Ballpark
I've been to the following big league stadiums: Atlanta Fulton County Stadium, Oakland Alameda County Coliseum, Metrodome, Kingdome, Safeco Field, and Coors Field.
I'd rate them from best to worst:
1. (tie) Safeco and Coors: Great stadiums w/ not a bad seat anywhere.
3. Kingdome: Wasn't as bad as others may have sad. It was a fun stadium to catch exciting games. I was able to get a few good seats there, but I could see where there'd be bad seats.
4. Metrodome: Slightly worse than the Kingdome. Not as much excitement built up there. The seats I had there weren't too great.
5. Alameda Coliseum: Don't remember much from it, but I know that it wasn't fun or anything great.
6. Fulton County Stadium: That place sucked. Can't say much else. The seats I had were decent, but I was there at the worst time to experience the stadium though; Rodney King riots were going on in Atlanta; pretty scary."You should only drink to enhance your social skills." -Barney GumbleComment

Originally posted by BlzerReally? I mean, I'm really not a fan of the stadium either, but it is a pretty good ballpark for the players. I guess, as a fan, it's not as appealing though. You are just plain not close to the action at all. But, in terms of the stadium (and beauty, play, or style), it's OKAY. Can't be the worst, though.
I also have mixed feelings about Fenway Park. It's a great T.V. park, but I just don't know about being there. Anyone like to contribute their opinion on it in terms of being at the ballpark?Comment

Originally posted by HighlightO please the stadium is great. When the Cubs come to town I usually talk to the fans and they love coming to the park. I've sat all around the park and have not had a bad seat yet. 100 dollars...thats a j@ck@$$ comment if I've ever heard one.....the new scoreboard along the outfield wall in left is worth more than half the stuff they have at home games in cincy. If the Reds players really said this stuff they are idiots.
Adam Dunn said Miller Park reminded him of an old dark airport hanger! lol
On a side note I guess the Reds didnt have a problem seeing the ball last night!ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment
