I doubt it goes further then that. That's why the manager is usually waiting at the mound when the new pitcher comes in to give instructions and such.

I did not know that... Thanks for the info, both of you....

AAHHHHH! You smell that? Smells like White Sox 'Haterade' around this thread. Let me pull out the 'Haterade' repellent:

First and foremost, people hating the White Sox has nothing to do with Ken Williams nor Ozzie Gullien being loudmouths as Psyblast said. And it's kinda of wired Psyblast would talk about loud mouths because I believe he's a Pistons fan and Rasheed Wallace is the biggest trash-talking BIG mouth of all-time. That's why it was a joy to watch Miami defeat the almighty Pistons.

BUT I'm not here to talk about that. The real reason people hate the White Sox is simply because they won the World Series last year. It's funny how in our society people like winners but in sports people love to hate the champs. Ozzie Gullien and Ken Williams have been running the White Sox together for about 2 1/2 years and during that time no one gave a sh!t about the White Sox nor Ozzie nor Kenney. Up until they won the World Series. Now they're the team you'd love to hate. Look at the Yankees. Why do you think there isn't many Yankee haters around? Because they haven't won the World Series in SIX YEARS! When the Yankees were beating the crap out of teams and winning championship after championship you couldn't turn your head without finding a Yankee *****. For years Stienbrenner was the GM who was hated the most and now Kenney Williams is the GM with the 'X' on his back? All these two GM's is simply try to win championships for their teams. Why is there hate for ambious GM's? I have no idea.

And I'll admit, hating the champs got to me back in 2004 with the Red Sox. BUT I'd always respect that team because they had a kick-*** team.

NOW on to the Tracey incident. Mostly everyone here wants the White Sox to take the high road on this. I say f*ck that! If we were asking the same question to a Red Sox fan would just saw Otriz, Rameriez or Varitek get plunk would they respond in a different way? I say no. If this situation happened to Vernon Wells or Alex Rios were they got plunk twice would a Blue Jay fan react the same way. No way. And that basically goes for any fan, coach or teammate of that team that saw that siutation happen to them. IF you knew that your teammate got beaned and you had a GOOD sense that it was intentional then start warming the pitchers because it's gonna be a fight. I HOPE TO SEE ONE TONIGHT!
I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm X

Good post and I'll tell you what. If Ozzie or Kenny decided to take over their ballclub I bet there would be no rejections or outrage. I said the exact same thing as you said, last year who was Kenny Williams? Ozzie was simply another ex-ball player managing a team. Now they win, and all of sudden they are hated loud mouths? I get the logic but I dont get the logic. Like I said, ppl always want to knock down whomever is on top. It happens to the best of em. And dont respond like I'm some high horse riding Sox fan. I wonder this all the time in each sport. Since Ozzie is the face of the ball club, he takes all the criticism but as we may all know, he's not the one out there hitting the HRs and throwing the Ks. I can thoroughly understand the hate for AJ. He's a dirty cat and I can admit to that. But to hate Ozzie or even Kenny Williams for that matter just shows how much unnessacary hate ppl display.

At least you got 100 innings out of him, more than Jays fans can say for Sirotka.

I'm not an Ozzie fan like many of you, but I can't emphasize how wrong I think it is to actually demote a guy when his performance was clearly not the motivating factor. Most people just don't realize how little you actually make money-wise in the minor leagues. Even if you go back making a portion of your MLB salary, it's not fair that your opportunity to do what you love and earn what you've worked for is taken away for disobeying an unwritten rule...even though I agree with it's place in the game. Maybe this kid is back next week, maybe he gets injured and never gets his shot again...but if you called him up to make your team better, why would you demote him when he can help your team and he's already been cussed out like he was?

Re: ChiSox rookie refuses to hit Blalock

alot of the talk here is funny cause clearly a lot of people posting didnt watch the game or have any idea what the situation was like.

AJ got beaned with the first pitch of his first 2 at bats, by a guy that was throwing stellar the whole night. After the second time pierzynski got beaned the ump warns both benches.

Ok so a texas pitcher intentionally hitting one of the sox players twice and the Sox not beaning anyone somehow = Sox Bench getting warned? Thats some BS.

Now you have Vazquez out on the mound who cant hit a guy because he'll be suspended, you gotta bring in the least important guy who is going to go back down to the minors soon anyway in to do the job. People are commenting about baserunners? Lol it was like 8-0 Rangers already at that point.

Im sorry but you dont get to bean the other teams leader in batting average (also one of the more "leader" type players on the team) twice on purpose and expect not to get hit back. The umps put the sox in this situation that makes it sound worse than it is: "their bench was already warned!".

Anyway, you are coming in to do something for the manager of the year and the defending world champions, you do it or face the possible consequences.

The sox traded for a red sox pitcher and a roster spot was needed. I don't know if they made the trade before they told the rook he was getting sent down or not though, it was announced today

That's actually the rule to keep things like this from happening.

And Dice...I'd like to say I dislike the White Sox because of Ozzie and AJ...not because they beat the Red Sox last year and went on to win the WS. I respect them as a team, because what they did last year was very impressive, but I dislike them because of their two loud-mouths. Respect Ozzie as a manager, but i dislike the dude with a passion...and AJ, well, Aj just needs to shut up.

And before you say it...yes, I dislike Schilling because he runs his mouth, but I respect him as a pitcher, and respect all the things he and his wife have done off the field for charity, etc, but I hate the fact the guy opens his mouth one too many times.

the rules are messed up thats what im saying, this has happened to the sox several times since last season. How is it fair at all? Any team is just allowed to throw at the other just as long as they do it first?
