Wright had better numbers then Chipper, and is better, but Chipper if healthy can contribute the same.

If Chipper would have had the same number of at bats as Wright he would have put up much better numbers. The problem is that Chipper just can't stay healthy.

funny how a lot of you guys keep talking smack still, we may not have the best pitching in the leauge, but we have what it takes to get it done. Just don't forget we hit with the best of them, people still don't understand how great our offense really is, if we do get to the WS, that american leauge team we will play will really find out what thats all about, I will leave it at that.

Not if we don't fix the pitching staff. We lost too many games last year where we score 5 or more runs. That shouldn't happen.

I'm not trying to down David Wright or anything. He's going to be a great, great player. He will probably be better than Chipper offensively next year and from then on out. And he's 10 times the fielder Chipper ever was at third.

But I don't see why it's much of a reach to say that Chipper probably would have done more than Wright last year given the same number of at bats. Chipper had a higher BA, OBP, and SLG and even with the 171 less at bats he had the same number of home runs.

But as you said we can't predict what would have happened in 171 more at bats so it really doesn't matter.

They'll probably make it to the WS. Not because of their overpowering game, but by default because of being the best of the AAAA. And they'll probably lose in 5 or 6 to whoever they face.

I'm basing my logic on the fact that the best team in the NL would be about the 5th or 6th best in the AL.

But at the end of the day, the ALCS is the World Series this year. Whoever makes it out of the NL is nothing more than a sacrificial lamb for the AL teams coronation.

For what it's worth, there isn't a team in the NL that's getting past a number of teams in the AL in a 7 game series. Not the Mets.....not anyone. Just not going to happen. It's been shown the past few years that the AL is the superior division. Many teams that don't make the playoffs in the AL would beat the best NL team in a 7 game series IMO. Just the way it is right now.

I guess people should acutally WAIT for the results before writing off teams based on meaningless regular-season stats.
How much do those interleague records mean about now?

I'd rather go out on a limb and make an innaccurate prediction at the beginning than come in at the end and act like I know. Gotta put yourself out there sometimes (in business, life and predictions).

For what it's worth, I don't think interleague games mean anything either. That was never the basis for my opinion.

Interleague either needs to be expanded such that each team plays an equal schedule, or eliminated altogether.
