7 months has nothing to do with it. You only need 40 hours to get your private certificate. Which you can easily get in a week, scary as it might sound.

Anywho that's shocking that someone can legally fly after 40 hours of training!

EDIT: I know it's trivial but MLB is considering cancelling both games tonight.

Wow. Apparently, the plane reached 1500 ft. max height, then dropped drastically... seems like it was a horrible accident.

I just hear Lidle a couple of days ago on WFAN with Mike and Mad Dog, they were going at it very hard. Sureal...

40 hours is quite a bit when you get down to it. And really, he wouldn't even need 40 hours. Many people solo after only a few hours of flight, but we aren't talking anything other then take off and landing at the same airport.

If you were staying in the VFR corrider in NYC like Cory was supposed to, you could fly in there by yourself with much less then 40 hours. Okay, now that I've gone off topic enough, I'll stop.

They reported that the plane had a fuel problem.

Man, this is crazy. I read on yahoo that this building was home to many writers, actors, doctors, and lawyers.

Just heard on ESPN news that his family may not even know yet? How can they release his name if the family doesnt know yet? That sucks.

RIP to Corey and those that parished. Prayers go to all the families...

Somebody, I don't know who, is talking on the FAN now, and said there was a flight instructor, and a student pilot (Lidle) on the plane.
