I don't know about the other day.

I'm referring to when the trade was made to get him...they threw Cashman under the bus and called Lidle a loser for no reason at all.

It was ridiculous.

Any word on whether they notified his wife yet? I can't imagine being her and not knowing while it's all over the news like this.

During the interview he was saying a lot of just foolish stuff. The interview is on wfan.com (unless they took it down after todays events)

I just listened to the interview again... and its absolutely surreal to listen to him talk.

As much as I like M&MD, they were a little unfair to him. He was just trying to defend what h said but couldnt really put it into logical terms.

I'm sorry, I seriously don't mean to sound insensitive. But c'mon....

Rain washed out Game 1 of the NLCS at Shea, but MLB said Game 2 of the ALCS will be played despite the tragic death of Cory Lidle.

The last I heard, his wife and son were on a commercial flight and had not yet been notified.

Why would they cancel a game being played on the other side of the country because a journeyman pitcher died tragically? By all accounts it sounds like Lidle was a nice guy and its unfortunate this happened to him and that his family is now without a husband/father/brother/son, but life goes on. I'd only expect MLB to cancel a game if a player on one of the teams playing died suddenly (as was the case with Darryl Kile).

Jayson Stark has an article up on ESPN.com that says Mets thirdbase coach Manny Acta has an apartment in the building that Lidle's plane hit. Now that is some f'd up stuff.

Why would they cancel a game being played on the other side of the country because a journeyman pitcher died tragically? By all accounts it sounds like Lidle was a nice guy and its unfortunate this happened to him and that his family is now without a husband/father/brother/son, but life goes on. I'd only expect MLB to cancel a game if a player on one of the teams playing died suddenly (as was the case with Darryl Kile).

And even the Met game, which is just a few miles from where the crash occurred, would have gone on as scheduled if it weren't for the weather.

The interview is down... Now they just have some interviews that they did after the story broke... They probably couldn't wait to take that thing down. I never did get to listen to it.
