Re: A-Rod to Cubs?
Hell no..Being a Yankees fan i wouldnt take either Woods or Prior in a deal for Arod..Both are injury prone plus I hope the Yanks learned from the Pavano deal.
I would take Aramis and Hill for Arod =)PSN: ckarlic

If we trade Hill and A-Ram I may become a yankees fan.Last edited by USF11; 10-17-2006, 12:19 PM."Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment

Re: A-Rod to Cubs?
What he said. Besides, the offseason hasn't started yet and this is the fourth rumor I'm hearing concerning AROD. He's being "shopped" around to the likes of White Sox, Cubs, Angels, and Dodgers so far. It's going to be a long offseason for AROD, doubt he goes anywhere though.Comment

Re: A-Rod to Cubs?
Hill is far from being close to the best young pitcher in all of baseball. He did end the season well but that doesn't automatically make him the best. Until he can prove he can do it all year, he won't be close to the best.Comment

Liriano, Felix, Harden, Willis, Kazmir, Sowers, Young, etc.

Re: A-Rod to Cubs?
As USF said Rich Hill also better be untouchable. The second half he finally started to look comfortable, and is learning how to pitch at the ML level. Plus he has never been hurt. I think he could be the real deal if they don't mess around with him. His minor league numbers were off the charts, and I think once he gets it all together he can be a force.Comment

Re: A-Rod to Cubs?
Wow. These are some pretty Cubs friendly trades. Ramirez would basically be a positional replacement throw in, but the Yankees would have to get Zambrano, which I doubt would happen. The Cubs have no one else to trade at this point. Does anyone really think the Yankees would be interested in Kerry Wood right after he decided to become a closer? Doesn't New York already have someone in that spot?Comment

Re: A-Rod to Cubs?
I like Alex, a lot, but even though I will continue to defend him till the end I realize pitching is the Yankees biggest need.
If we can get a solid pitcher or two for Alex I'm all for it."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: A-Rod to Cubs?
I don't want to get rid of A-Rod just to get rid of him, and if he's on the team next year I am fine with that.
But he's one of the few stars on this team who will probably be tradeable, and we need pitching, so if he can bring back good young pitching I'd be willing to trade him.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment
