Re: PITCH STAMINA bars...Why is this a STANDARD??

You hit the nail on the head. And to take it one step further,a correct number of foul balls per game also impact the pitch count tremendously. This will also increase the playing time. HH has indicated a slider for foul ball frequency,so we will have to wait on how they will manage pitch count in relation to fatigue. We can't have it both ways.
I've wondered if they could just take an avg. of fouls that occur per inn. an add that to a pitch count(in lieu of slider settings)and also use the number of times the pitcher throws over to hold a runner to achieve a more realistic pitch count.
I believe they use the number of batters as opposed to pitch counts, because of the human tendency to hack at everything in sight. Even in HH where I could draw 4 to 6 walks on avg.,the fatigue factor on the AI was still low because I didn't get a lot of hits. I had thier pitch count in the 80's(a lack of fouls or it would be higher) in the 7th,but he's still strong. I would like to be rewarded for a good eye. But I understand where the developers are coming from.
Like you said, sliders will help, but be prepared for some 1 to 2 hr. games.

Triple Play for Sega had the stamina bar. World Series Baseball had odd stamina ratings.

In High Heat 2003 (PC VERSION) there are Mound Visits which you can use to by time for the relivers in the bullpen. Also pichters start rubbing thier forehead and lose control of their pitches when they get tires ( there is a stamina bar though)
