Andy Pettitte could be coming back to N.Y

I'm hearing this deal may be done by friday.......2yr 26mil.
It would be nice to see him in pinstripes again.

It's actually pretty reasonable in this year's market. He has health issues, but no more than Padilla and the host of other unproven, unhealthy pitchers. A proven winner who, when healthy, is still one of the game's best is tough to come by. He is "only" 34. But, in reality, I see what you are saying.

You heard it right. He is debating whether to retire or not. His agents are talking to the Yanks and Stros, but telling both to proceed as if he is not coming back. (I heard this on an ESPN radio update on my way into work this morning)

I'm excited he'll play for New York if he decides to not retire.

But, I thought it was going to be incentive-based. Guess Pettitte's agents (Hendricks right?) played hardball realizing the Yankees need Pettitte.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that if Pettitte goes back to the Yankees that Clemens would shortly follow. Right?

I'd rather pay a little more and get Pettitte for 2 years than be stuck with a mediocre pitcher like Lilly for 4 years.

As a Cubs fan, I would much rather have Andy in the "stripes" rather than the asstrolls. Something is just right with baseball when Andy is pitching in New York
