That would be perfect. It's also one of my MLB dreams. Perhaps it can happen, especially with NYC getting the Olympics in 2012 therefore building new stadiums and not much love for the Dodgers in LA. Damn that would be awesome. They did win the WS against the Yankees, I forgot which year, but everyone in Brooklyn was happier than ever, partying..anything you can imagine aside from smashing people's/city's property like the fans do this day.

In regards to national contract at least give MLB credit for trying with the failed experiment of the Baseball network thing they tried with ABC and NBC. (I think NBC was the other network involved)

I do think that MLB should try a national SATELITE deal since DirecTV is so popular why not share revenue from the subscription orders for the MLB Extra Innings package and have a flat rate for ad time for every game. I think that could work, maybe.

That was 1956 one year before the last season in Brooklyn. I was referring more to the period before that victory. The Dodgers faced the Yanks something like 6 times in 10 years or some such ridicolous amount.

Its not gonna happen. If New York gets the Olympics, the Olympics will be there, and then probably the Jets or Giants, but not too much else. Traffic is going to be terrible. With a football team there, it will only be 8 sundays a year. Theres no way they'll put up with that traffic for 81 games.

I've read a lot of people calling for a salary cap. There has never been one, and there never will be. The player's association would never accept it. Both sides are equally responsible. I'm just getting tired of everyone taking shots at the yankees, as though they are the ONLY reason baseball is in the trouble it is. It's the owners like Steinbrenner who spend to much just as much as it is Carl Pohlad who dosen't spend enough. And personally, I'm 26, I've been going to Yankee games for 14 years. (my dad isn't a sports fan, so I got a late start) That means I went to Yankee Stadium when the Yankees downright sucked! But I supported them then as I do now because I was, and always will be a diehard. Even when I knew the Yanks had no shot at anything I went and cheered. If pirates, and devil rays fans won't go support their team then that's a shame. Maybe they're mostly fair wheather fans. -Note... I did say mostly, I don't want 50 posts telling me what a big pirates or devil rays fan Joe Schmo is.

its not just the yankees.....but the game is definitely boring with the same team ALWAYS winning....and i know i'm not alone on that feeling...so yeah if "yankee baseball" can supprt an entire league then im all for it...but im pretty sure they can't.

                        solution: revenue sharing...ie salary cap
Bummed that you're not on my ignore list yet?.....Don't worry, I'm sure you will be very soon.

The one thing I find funny is people always saying no team can compete with the Yankees, they always win, they're buying championships. Did anyone watch the last 2 world series?

That just happened due to injuries and the Yanks paying a lot of money for the wrong players. They are still going to the playoffs EVERY year and will for a long time as long as they can spend the money they do..

I do agree though that they aren't the only team that is to blame. The owners that choose not to try and compete are KILLING the game.

And to whoever said that there will never be a salary cap because the players won't let there be one... I say that is absolute crap. If the owners could unite and grow some balls and stand up to the players they could get things under control. There might be a strike, but it would be for the good of the game in the long run and any true baseball fan would see it as that and accept the game with open arms when it finally re-emerged.

                                Whew, i am tired.
