Even 'ol Curt agrees with me.
As someone who’s made it very clear I have major issues with members of the media that take little or no pride in their work it’s the height of hypocrisy for me to say what I did, in any forum. I started this blog to give people a look into the life we live on and off the field, not to get into back and forths with people I don’t like or have issues with. Doing that will only make this a rant filled no content bunch of words."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: Schilling at it again.....
And remember with the steroid hearings at Congress? Before this hearing, Schilling was talking all big and bad about how he wanted to clean up this game, and get rid of these roided up players and get to the bottom of it, and then while he was actually on Capitol Hill, he backtracked and cowered like a little bitch. Schilling is just a mouth-running bitch, that's all.Comment

Re: Schilling at it again.....
Lots of people have forgotten Schill going into wuss mode during those hearings.
That's okay, I have a feeling heads will roll when the former Mets employee who got stung dealing roids gets a sweet deal from the prosecution to name as many names as he can.Comment

Come on now the players! What about baseball itself. If they want steroids out of baseball they need to do something about it not the players.Comment

At least he admitted he was being a hyprocrite though. When the media is wrong about something they just make excuses for it, or pretend they didn't say it. At least he took responsibility for his comments.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Schilling at it again.....
lol Oh OK, so it is the players union fault? Baseball could have done something about that. They have now with these test, so if they really wanted to stop all the steriods isssue, they could have, but they didn't want to.Comment

Re: Schilling at it again.....
I agree. Baseball could have stopped this a long time ago. They never said anything or did anything because the home run was bringing the fans back. So I don't think people should be crying foul now, when they didn't care about it before.Comment

Re: Schilling at it again.....
I know Bonds never publicly admitted using steroids....but didn't he admit he took "the cream" and "the clear" that had steroids, but he claimed not to know. Or was that in the leaked grand jury testimony?"You can not ensure success, but you can deserve it." - John Quincy Adams

Re: Schilling at it again.....
With that said, I don't think the league ever tried to pass a league law to have stiffer drug testing. They knew it was happening, but turned a blind eye because ratings were so good. Once the Government got involved, the public started to complain and some players keeled over (ie: Caminiti), then the league got serious. They came up with a testing plan and a suspension system and the Union accepted (the Union really didn't have a choice in the
matter at this point).
Of course, HGH is still not tested for and probably never will be since it requires a blood test. Poking a needle in a players arm every few weeks to extract blood for a blood test is a whole other ballgame compared to pissing in a cup.Comment

Re: Schilling at it again.....
Not entirely true. Baseball could have TRIED to pass a rule for steroid testing, but the players union has to APPROVE that ruling. If they do not approve that ruling, it does not take effect. Just understand that the players union controls baseball more than the owners or commish do. For lack of a better phrase, the union has the league/owners by the balls.

Re: Schilling at it again.....
I agree, baseball could have done something, that is all I am saying, but I can't help to think that they liked the attention they were getting with Mark and Sosa. I just think that we are a part of the steriod era! Player are always going to try and get that edge. In the 70's players took speed! It is just how it is and in Ruth's era they drank beer! lol I heard stories about Micky going to a bar during a the break of a double hitter! lol
Care to explain how BEER is on the same level as STEROIDS when it comes to enhancing one's performance?Comment
