Popularity doesn't mean that it works. There's tons of junk medicine and suppliments that have been proven to do nothing for you, yet are still popular because it's believed they work. The actual improvements to performance HGH gives the human body is pretty neglible, it's only real dramatic effect is that of essentially a beauty pill.

Originally posted by ScottdWow MJB, ok bro what ever you say. If you believe that HGH helps your eyes and hand Coordin. Go ahead, but that is funny. I have read reports about it, but if it was true it would have to be that way for evey player that took it. I don't see batters hitting 500 yet. So yeah I need to do more reading! lol Well you said that every experts think different. I am sure some Doc. are going to try and prove it and some will try to disapprove it. But if it does then I don't know how this will stop players from taken it.
It might not be true for every player who takes it as it might affect different people in different manners. Plus the player still has to have the God given ability to do what they do. Batters aren't just going to start hitting .500 by taking it....not even .400. Baseball is still a very difficult sport regardless. I never claimed HGH to be a miracle drug/medicine etc...

Why should it be funny? I know you aren't a Doctor so I don't think I'll be taking your advice over those that are Doctors.

So you think it has 0 effect on an individual and wouldn't make a better player better? That I find hilarious. Mind you, I never stated that a scrub player could just take HGH and expect to turn into a perennial All Star or that a good player would raise his batting average 100 points and hit 30 more HR's just by taking HGH. However, I did state that from what I've read, it does have some positive effects on players taking it.
No I am not a Dr., but if you want to believe them go ahead. You keep on disagreeing with me and yet you keep agreeing with what I am saying. Evey time I say something you have a opposite remark, but then you follow it up with the other side. OK what ever. I don't believe that HGH helps your hand and eyes. I will agree that you have to have a God given talent. So that I agree with, but that is it! lol Any ways I think that HGH is not going to make a better player better. Unelss you think hitting HRs is what makes them better. HGH just make you stronger. I haven't bought in to the HGH does a lot more mindset yet.Comment

Pot, kettle, black about the constant disagreeing. That's just your way though and I've grown accustomed to that (and by viewing post history, I'm not the only one who has stated this). On this topic, I'm just trying to get you to look at things from a different angle and possibly read into it a little more before making an opinion. In other words, open your mind to other things. Just because you believe something to be true, doesn't make it so.
With that said, let's just agree to disagree as this is going nowhere and is way off topic.Last edited by mjb2124; 05-11-2007, 01:57 PM.Comment

Re: Schilling at it again.....
Of course I'm going to believe a Doctor over a random guy on the internet who has limited to no education on this topic. That only makes sense. You wouldn't ask a farmer why you have a rash on your leg.

Oh yes and you know more becasue you read up on this stuff, it is all opinions. Some docs agree with you and some will agree with me. Also, I see the both sides to everything. I could see the side to Bonds taking streiods, but I can also see the side of Bonds not taking them. I don't have a one out look on anything. I can see both side. I agree with what you are saying about some things, but this hand and eye thing I will not believe. But go ahead try to discredit me, I can care less what you think about me, just like I know you can care less what I think of you. It is all opinion, that is what it comes down too. Sure some Docs. are going to try and prove their side and I respect that. I just haven't read anything yet that has made me change my mind about the hand and eye thing, the bottom line is you can hit or you can't. MY mind is open a lot more then you think! lol I can see both side to anything we discuss. But this hand and eye thing that is where I have a problem. So go ahead keep proving your point maybe someday I will see it, but right now I can't. I am sure some on here will tell me I am wrong, but oh well!Comment

Re: Schilling at it again.....
It is all good, any ways I still think what Curt did was wrong. I just think you shouldn't throw people under the bus, even if it is true or not. You just don't do that as a human being. At least that is what I believe. Also, especially to the press.Comment

Re: Schilling at it again.....
I don't like what Curt did, but honestly, that seems to be the way it is with many pro athletes. I've just grown accustomed to accepting it as the norm.
Schilling also used to have the nickname "Red-light" because he loved to be in front of the camera. I think that says a lot.Comment

Yeah I know, I just was raised different. Some players are like that, I think it is wrong, but that is just my opinion. I know some people like it, but to me that is uncall for. I still think he did this to get people off his back about the so call red sock! I was shock how the media came down on Curt, I thought they would be on his side.Comment

Re: Schilling at it again.....
So was I. Although in the corporate world, if you aren't the one stepping on others, then you're the one getting stepped on. Don't take me wrong, I don't intentionally slam other people to further my career (it would have the opposite effect and I was raised differently), but I'm also not going to take things lying down. That's a story for another day though as I'm rambling.Comment

Yeah, it is different in the corporate world. I just think slamming on others is wrong. When you really don't need too. I am sure Curt is trying to get a raise out of people or he is just a jerk and doesn't care who he hurts. Most superstars that I know of our pretty much into themselves and can care less who they hurt. I am not saying that about every superstar, but when you have had your *** kiss since HighSchool it is kinda hard to not get a little stuck up.Comment
