I can't believe a forum about baseball games, has a topic like this. Steinbrenner knows what he's doing. When Bill Parcells wanted to light a fire under his team's collective ***, he went after his top two players, Phil Simms and Lawrence Taylor. That's how you do it. You show the Nick Johnsons of the world, you're not screwing around.

But if you're not a Yankee fan, then why do you care? If you want to bad-mouth George for his spending, because you think it's bad for the game? Fine. But if it dosen't affect your team, then why waste message board space on a pointless discussion like this? Let's utilize this great site for what it was intended for, to discuss baseball VIDEO GAMES.

We're all fairly intelligent people here. Let's think of some better topics that don't involve bashing the Yankees.

Like the fact that we're inching closer and closer to the release of some GREAT baseball titles this year!!!

But Yankee haters like you have nothing better to do than try and find ways to use this web site as a forum for Yankee bashing. And quite honestly, it's getting a little tedious and boring. Criticize all you want. But all Yankee fans know exactly what he's up to. Again, he's been doing this stuff for years. He even did it to Mattingly, one of the most beloved Yankees ever when his hair was supposedly too long and George wanted him to cut it.

My whole point wasnt about the spending, who cares!! My point was that you cant always go after players to "light a fire underneath them", it doesnt work with everyone. And hes going to go after the wrong person, and its going to back fire in his face one day.
