I'll chime in with this. I hate the BUSINESS of baseball. I hate to hear of strikes, walkouts, owners' lockouts, all that crap. I love watching baseball at the beginning and at the end of the season. It's just the "dog days" that I get bored with. It would help ofcourse, if I had a local team, then I might feel differently. As it is, my favorite team is the LA Dodgers and unless they are on ESPN, I don't get to see them. I do like to root for underdogs in the playoffs. I was hoping Oakland might finally see a WS again last year. Then I wanted Minnesota to do it after they beat Oakland.

I do have a year round interest this way though: I HATE the Yankess and Braves. I can't stand them. I wish both teams would go 0-162!!!

I'm not going to hate you for saying it, but I love baseball. It's most definitely my favorite sport. I understand that some people don't like the tempo, but it's a totally different experience than college football or basketball.

You have to pick up on the little things that are involved in the game (strategies, decisions, player changes, etc). It's really the only game where you can second-guess almost every decision that is made.

Plus, Sportscenter highlights of baseball are far from boring. It's not like you have to sit through a three hour game. You get to see al the great offeensive and defensive plays and strikeouts that happened during the day.

Baseball is somewhat boring, i think we can all agree on that. But, like all sports, its comes down to the little things. The "routine" play really isnt routine at all. The Can of corn can just as easy be an error. The difference between a pop-up and 3run HR is a matter of inches on the bat. And there is so much more.

Baseball is a sum of its parts. Now the business of BB sucks big time, but the sport itself has few problems (drug use by players being #1 i think)

I've never been a fan of baseball, but last year picked up both ASB and WSB, plus a couple of books in order to get a sense of what's really going on under the surface of the game.

Unfortunately, just as I was trying to work up enthusiasm to follow the season, all it became was a countdown to the Strike That Never Happened. I found, trying to get into the game, that the overwhenling financial discussion kept me from fully commiting and enjoying.

So, I'll try again this year ...

I didn't intend to flame guys...I posted this in the College Football forum. Really...I'm not trying to start a fight. I was just lamenting because I have so long to wait for Football season, and I just am not a big fan of Baseball. I like playing baseball and playing baseball video games. Watching the games can get boring though.
