    Re: Who else hates Baseball??

I like playing baseball and playing baseball video games. Watching the games can get boring though.

      Baseball:
      162 games
      8 teams make the playoffs
19 playoff games max (per team)

      Hockey/NBA:
      80-some games
16 teams make the playoffs (more than half the league)
      playoffs take forever...

There may be a lot of games, but at least they matter.

i absolutly ADORE playing the game of baseball..i acxtually think the relaxing part s fun cause you get to talk to the other players and watch a game...yes the matches may get boring, but when they do,i listen to the commentators cause at times hey have good discussions when the game is a bore...Thought i love the 7th through 9th innings cause the crowd really gets into it and you sense the urgency in teams/players

This is one of the things that has kept me away from baseball.

The whole George Will/ Bob Costas/Ken Burns "Baseball Is America" just makes the whole sport reek of formaldehyde. It's a sport - not a national ideal.

This is the beauty of the game IMO. That's why it's called "America's Pastime". Haven't you just taken a day off of work to go to an afternoon game at your team's ballpark?

I'm soo looking forward to Friday March 4, Opening Day at The Ballpark in Arlington because I feel a cold coming on already...cough...cough...I'm going to spend the afternoon chugging beer and hot dogs all the while relaxing and hopefullly watching the Rangers kick some ***!

Correction, March 4 is a Tuesday and it is also Madi Gras in New Orleans. If you watch the parades there, I am the tall guy on the corner in the French Quarter.

                          Re: Who else hates Baseball??

I love baseball, sure it gets boring at times but the relaxation of the game is great. It's also the only sport I know of that has a whole mythology behind it. The stories of the Babe, the Mick, Dimaggio, Jackie Robinson, The Bronx Bombers, The love affair between Chicago and their cubs.

The game is so rich in history yet for the last 25 yrs the sport has been damaged by all the economics/CBA gobblygook. Sometimes I wish I was alive during the 30s to the 60s to see TRUE MLB.

BTW if you want a more boring sport try watching cricket.

Actually I was not the one who moved it.

Everything has been civil so far and to be honest I am not that big of a baseball fan. I keep an eye on the season standings and how players are doing but I will be lucky to sit through a 9 inning game. Of course once the post season hits I watch every game I can.

I am the same way with hockey. Yet I do enjoy playing baseball and hockey video games all year long.
