Re: High Heat Sightings and First Impressions here...

Just played the game for about 20 minutes at my local EB (I have to wait till March 3rd to get it for my xbox ). Anyway, I obviously didn't play enough to see many of the new features. I just played about 4 innings of an exhibition game between the Mets and Pirates. Here's my impression: if you liked 2k3, you'll definitely like 2k4. If you didn't like 2k3, you most likely won't like this one. Basically, gameplay is what's most important to me - and 2k4 is basically the same gameplay as 2k3, except the graphics are slightly better, the animations are much better, and some gameplay problems have been ironed out. I've played every single version of HH on my PC since 99 - now I have XBOX, and I'll definitely be picking up 2k4 for it. If you've enjoyed High Heat before, and as long as you don't expect anything revolutionary, you probably won't be disappointed. I'll try to answer any questions, but keep in mind I only played about 5 innings and only glanced briefly at some other options.

In the HH2204 interview, the guy stated that the crowd size depended on how well your team was doing. Is this evident in the games that have been played so far?

I couldn't say....the crowd, graphically, isn't very different from the crowd in 2k3. I didn't play enough to determine wheter crowd size changes based on the home team though.

Re: High Heat... First Impressions & Questions for those with the game

Haven't noticed the crowd size changing but not far enough into the season yet.

To the guy who asked about the Indians, they had Travis Haffner, Brandon Phillips and Kareem Garcia in the starting lineup.

I think for this early they made pretty educated guesses on rosters and lineups, and of course the x-box version will have updates and PS2 the sharkport.

I simmed some, it seemed pretty accurate but it is kind of slow, also some options to let the cpu handle moves or the user.

The gameplay is very similar to last year but it is different, just the different pitch types alone makes for a different game. Seems to be more foul balls and more line drive hits, less bloops over the infield.

Also so far haven't seen any crazy moves by the CPU during a game seems to be a little smarter on roster moves.

But the one guy is probably right, if you didn't like the basic gameplay of HH before unless you have really opened your mind this year, you will probably not like it. But for those of us who like the game, i think you will be very happy.

Can anyone verify the speed and reaction time of fielders in the game? Is it like last years? In the movies the speed and reaction time seemed a bit slower but how is it in realtime?

                          Siam,

It seems fine to me, been awhile since I played last years but fielding is very smooth probably more responsive and more fun since the animations are smoother. The loopy throw on double plays is gone os DP seem way more realistic.
