Re: High Heat Sightings and First Impressions here...

My Blockbuster said that a Shipment of 5 copies of HH04 are coming in today. So I will be picking up a copy of it soon.
Once I pick it up, I will write a review of it and post impressions.

Just something I remembered that was cool....

When trying to leg out a double, I noticed my runner sliding head first into the 2nd base bag and over sliding, causing him to grab hold of the basepad and his bodies momentum swung around the base. I've seen this happen 1 time on a pick off throw as well. The animations are so fluid in this game.

Glad the animtions are fixed this year, that was a complaint voiced by many. Maybe next year they could upgrade the whole graphics engine. (other than animations)

Been playing for about two hours and it definitely has improved from last year. The graphics and animations are improved and noticable.I cant beleive people complain about the same sounds and graphics.Madden has had the same graphics since its ps2 inception and the same stupid crunch sound when tackling.I play the games for the gameplay and can give a rats *** about graphics and sound as long as it doesnt look like nes baseball games. The gameplay in high heat is as close as u can come to the real thing.and if u dont like it you can make it more arcade like ea/s baseball games. The ai is incredible, there are walks, taken third pitch strikeouts, and more foul balls.Just in walks alone no other baseball game to date can duplicate it (imo), I can count on both hands how many walks i drew in the other games last year.I also like to finis a game under a half hour whic you can in high heat.ASB takes way too long to hold my interest and finish a game.As far as simulation I am quite happy with 2004 high heat.

Well, when I went to the schedule screen when I was playing around, I noticed the Giants start a series at San Diego, and that is exactly who they start the season with this year, so my guess is yes. I'm sure someone will chime in about it soon.

                                BD,

                                I scheduled myself off today.

Clay - GAMESTOP man, EB is for losers.

The minor leagues are completely made up names, but you can edit them and they have full rosters for A,AA,AAA. Plus you can set their lineups and rotations, so that seems pretty in depth. Don't know how well it will sim, but on the surface it looks impressive.

I noticed the same slide Steve mentioned on a pickoff play at first it was pretty cool, the gameplay is HH gameplay and possibly tweaked some, I noticed more foul balls and even foul balls that went straight back. There is also a slider for foul balls.

I struck out 10 with Kerry Wood in 6 innings but he let up 3 runs I ended up beating the Astros 6-3 striking out 8 times and hitting one Home run. This is on All-Star with default settings, the last two years I played on MVP so i just want to see what the game is about first.

                                Blaise,

The schedules look accurate. Rosters look pretty good, except I noticed Bartolo Colon was not on the White Sox.

Hit me with some more questions I will be around all day.
