Re: High Heat Sightings and First Impressions here...

I dont know man, bug may be random but still killer like in my crunch time game.

Earlier in the game on the 3rd out the run didnt count.

My setting were default, starting my franchise williams on the mound, casey at bat.

Im still bummed, good thing i have dark cloud 2 i can play, till i find my baseball game, and i was really primed for high heat, but if this happens on a regular basis it can kill the game.

Lets write 3do tell them, to have a mass recall to fix

Actually ya The park is nice, reminds me alot of pnc in alot of facets. Actually in the Game Aram him a homer opposite field looked pretty sweet. I was fired up for my season, and ya i didnt break that much like a cabinet may never be the same again.

But sports games do this to me,

OK, the third out run scoring thing just happened to me, this is the worst bug I have ever seen in a baseball game, it's terrible. I hope that maybe the Xbox version won't have it...even though I am sure it will...looks like I need to return it for WSB. My EB will still take back a game one time for another, I posted that they wouldn't but I talked to them when I got the game and they said you could, so this baby is going back.

Well if its just discovered in the XBOX code that will probably push the XBOX release date back. Luckily ASB and all the others are right around the corner for the XBOX.

I really like HH so I hope this can be solved for the XBOX version, that would solve the problem for me.

Pitt if it happens again, let us know the circumstances.

                              I got the game today

The default pitch speed seemed a little slow, so I cranked them all up 3/4 of the way. That setting seemed to work well for me; I'm sure as I get the hang of picking up pitches, I'll put it up some more.

Speaking of pitches, I really, really like the new selection of pitches. Fastballs are interesting and challenging to hit, and it's not as easy as last year to pick up on a pitch's movement and smack it.

The new engine is a mixed bag, but overall there's more good than bad. There is slowdown and there are still animation pops, but animations on the whole are better looking and more varied than last year. Outfield throws look good, and the batting and pitching animations look much better than last year. Some of the infielder throwing animations look a bit slow, but maybe I'm just used to WSB's, some of which are a little too fast. I'll have to play more before I mess with any of the tuning options.

And there are a ton of tuning options. I'm almost afraid to touch them.

I haven't played enough to comment on the hit variety. I didn't see any choppers or chest-high line drives last year; anyone know if these have been added?

I played with the Franchise mode a little bit. The menu system is indeed hard to get the hang of, but I'm determined to do it Having 3 levels of minor leagues in a console game is a first, and not an easy thing to do. I haven't figured out much about the money system yet, since I haven't made it to my first offseason. I looked at my contracts page and everyone was listed at 0.0...does this info not show up during the first season or during the regular season? I don't like having to scroll all the way to the right to look at a column of ratings...makes it difficult to get a good read on minor leaguers to begin with, but once I figure out how good they are, it won't be a problem. Anyway, it's always been necessary to look more at stats than ratings to judge players in HH franchise mode. Year-by-year career stats are in there (but not for L/R splits? I don't care much about that anyway), which is very cool. I haven't yet looked at all the different options you can have for this mode. I did see that you can play with no budgets, the way HH's franchise has always been. I like playing that way sometimes so I can keep players their entire careers. Hard to get attached to your players when you have to keep shuffling your roster trying to get the most for your money.

I haven't seen the 2 out scoring bug. Has anyone tried running on the pitch to see if that's what's causing it? Even it does exist, 3DO can put out a new PS2 version. It's just a little costly. I think Monster Rancher 3 had a really horrible bug in its initial release, and Tecmo released a fixed version later.
