Re: high heat gets a 8.1 over at ign

The review sounds fair and unbiased. It basically sounds that the game still needs work. I mean they are saying that there is a ton of missing player animations and screen stutter. That alone is reason enough to knock the score down. I have seen the game in action and some of these issues seem valid. Personally, I hate that big circle that goes around the player you are controlling. How big of a circle does one need to know who they are moving? Well, I am sure none of this pleases the High Heat fans including myself, so the best advise is to get the game yourself and then make a decision.

I am still trying to figure out why the gameplay score was 8.0.

I read the review, and just played the game (very briefly), and some of it I strongly disagree with. My main grip is that if its better than last years, graphic wise, how come it didnt at least get the same score?, which was an 8.8.

I could be wrong but most reviewers don't base thier scores on what the previous version got score wise. They base it off of it's competition and what is "expected" in the current time frame/life of games.

True. And as for reviewers giving big companies like EA preferential treatment, that's horse****. In the case of football games, they are VC whores and they rip Madden for not being 2K3. So that's not true.

I agree. I think the competition did more upgrades etc and that is why the score is 8.1 (which is not a bad score). I predict ASB, WSB and MVP will all get higher scores.

The reviews final thought "As the market is full of new contenders and stars entering the prime of their careers, our old friend High Heat laces them up for just one more season to prove it still has what it takes. One of the last remaining players of a bygone era, it does its job well and does it well. Even if it can't keep up with younger and more flexible newcomers."
