It's funny that HH gets bashed senseless with this bug which from the looks of it you must have to jump through 9 hoops to get.

There are other questionable features slash bugs in many other games.

You have to remember the ASB and WSB last year weren't close to perfect. Personally I thought the gameplay was average from those two titles.

But HH is everyone's whipping boy. I don't really know why that is...maybe everyone is just pissed because it's realistic but can't seem to do anything put itself over the top.

No doubt this is a bug that in an ideal world wouldn't have happened. I would rather play a game like this than one where the baserunning AI is messed up. that comes into play almost every inning and can really effect the outcome of the game if the CPU is not running the bases the way it should.

Speaking of which...I'm racking up the outfield assists in this game. Not sure if bringing the throwing arms down is the right solution yet, though.

There comes a point in a game's development where fixing bugs just creates different bugs and you're losing tens of thousands of dollars a day by not shipping. It's not always that bugs haven't been found, it's that you're not the armed forces and people aren't going to die if you ship with a few minor oddities in your software. You will, however, not have a viable business model if you try to eliminate all of them. Unless people are willing to start paying a lot more for their games (and they aren't), they're going to have to put up with a flaw here and there. What bothers me is when companies knowingly ship a badly screwed up product and the customers are the ones that suffer the consequences (Sierra Sports FB '99, High Heat 2002 PC, BattleCruiser 3000 A.D., Ultima Online to name a few).

Fatp the mere mention of FBPRO 99 sends a shiver up my spine.

                        8 hour days!

Not even close. These testers were spending 16+ hour days in the weeks leading up to release, if they are like any other development team.

Anyways, one of the issues about bugs is reproducability. Having been on both ends of this, I expect that this bug was seen and reported with the same description that was going around here. When the developer went to reproduce it, he couldn't. If a programmer can't make the bug happen consistently, there's really no way to fix it.

Look, I was all over Sega on the NCAA/NBA roster import issue. I'm not saying companies shouldn't be held responsible. But, unfortunately, bugs do get missed. When your testing staff increases from 30 to 3000 overnight, things creep out of the woodwork.
