eh, i do believe in an earlier post i admitted to being upset about Roberts' admission in taking it. but i still think he being lumped in with the rest of the habitual users is sort of unfortunate. but yes, i do believe he took the drugs.

edit: i've come to realize my post was on a different board. but i still stand by my assertion that it is unfortunate that roberts was made to come across as a habitual user (which i cannot disprove) or even been shown to have purchased it. but again, i do believe that he took steroids.

Umm no, I don't think so. Fielder is a very talented dude. he's only 23, has hit many dingers in the past, this is only the beginning for him. Believe it or not, how we accuse players of steroids isn't as black-and-white as you may at first think. That's my opinion anyways. Anyways, I gotta go. Be back later on tonight.

I'm not saying those guys did or didn't do it. I think there's a few here missing my point. My point is, how do you tell when it's either (1) a good season (2) maturation of a player or (3) Steroids? It's getting harder and harder to tell, especially in players like Brian Roberts. I'm not saying any of the guys are mentioned used steroids, hgh or anything else. I'm just saying it's evil because it's taking away the humanity of the game, in my opinion.

Yup. We see from the report that minor leaguers are/were using hgh. So they figured it out earlier and use it to get to the majors and can hit the longball earlier, get that fat contract, etc... etc...

The point is, the clean players out there chose to remain silent rather than risk their peers' (and the MLBPA's) wrath. Which is their right -- no one wants to be a snitch or be blackballed. But none of them should then complain about having their accomplishments or character questioned, because they helped create this environment of suspicion by refusing to hold their fellow players responsible for cheating.

on an impersonal level, this seems like a no brainer. Then again, I'm sure everyone has seen their boss, co-worker, etc. do something against the rules, does that mean you shouldn't get a raise because you refused to say something and kept peace at your job?

No, it doesn't. It just means you can't get on your moral high horse if your reputation is tarnished because of the actions of your co-workers.

Maybe you're just a stronger man than I am, then. I've never been a fan of Fuhr, not sure why, but maybe it's because I'm completely anti-union. Or that the guy seems to be one of the factors that helped turn baseball into the cartoonish 500 foot homerun game it is viewed as today.

I haven't looked through this whole thread to see if someone posted this already. I thought this was funny. Someone posted it in a Fark.com thread for the report. Memo = "Bought something"
