That's how I heard the last game, listened to the Boston announcers on XM. Ironically, they were 100X less bias than the Fox announcers.

Yeah,I wonder how long they'd been sitting on this one.

It sounds like there wasn't an attempt to gain competitive advantage from using these drugs. I'm not sure anybody can call this guy a cheater or whatever derogatory terms you would use for a performance enhancing drug abuser.

If a guy has a tumor and a doctor says he needs to take this medication, and it wasn't even banned by MLB at the time, there should be no problem.

The only sketchy part is his dentist prescribing the medication..

Over the next few years we are going to be seeing lists of players who were taking this ****.

Just to throw one more conspiracy out there: George Mitchell (the guy investigating the steroids and stuff) is a director in the Red Sox front office.

The official website of the Boston Red Sox with the most up-to-date information on news, tickets, schedule, stadium, roster, rumors, scores, and stats.

Unless I totally missed something, this wasn't information supplied by Mitchell. The article is by the writers of Game of Shadows.

Still seems like we haven't heard the whole story but this is interesting...

                        http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playof...jim&id=3073796

Cleveland general manager Mark Shapiro said he had no knowledge of "any of this" until the pitcher told him about it Friday. Shapiro declined to comment specifically on whether the club knew about a pituitary problem with Byrd, citing medical confidentiality, but said, "Friday was the first time I was aware of anything."
MLB spokesman Pat Courtney also said the league had no prior knowledge of any HGH use by the pitcher. Courtney further said that Byrd was not given a therapeutic use exemption for HGH, that no player has been given such an exemption and that he was not aware whether an HGH exemption was even possible.

Interesting indeed. I might be wrong, but I don't believe him. I have been lied to too many times to believe anyone's steriod, HGH story. When there is 100% proof that he is telling the truth then I will believe him.
