    200 hits, 100 + runs, 41 SB,

A 20 doubles, 20 homers, 20 triples, 20 stolen bases season by a Gold Glove SS, and you say he's an awful MVP???

Not to mention he is a gamer who played 162 games, and is a great great leader.

You must be a Jose Reyes fanboy.
212 hits in 716 at bats. Holliday got 4 more hits in 80 FEWER at-bats.

20/20/20/20? Holliday had a 50/6/36/11! Much better IMO. And gold gloves are a joke of an award now. Rollins did not deserve it at all this year.

    Holliday:
    OPS+: 150
    EQA: .326
    WARP3: 11.9
    VORP: 75

    Rollins:
    OPS+: 118
    EQA: .298
    WARP3: 11.5
    VORP: 66.1

It's expected that on everyday OF is going to put up those numbers. Last time I checked the Rockies play at Coors field right? J-Roll is a SS putting up OF comparable numbers.

I feel sorry for anyone who looks at Holliday's home/road splits, Rollins' home/road splits, and Rollins' fielding stats and still can't understand why Rollins won the MVP.

And anwyay, we already had a long discussion about this when the award was announced. Go read that thread for a detailed explanation as to why the Holliday fan club is off base on this one.

Rockies' players are always going to have to overcome the Coors Field advantage. I have no problem with Rollins getting the MVP, but Trulowitski (sp?) should've won Rookie of the Year. He was great offensively and defensively, while Braun was terrible in the field.

With that said, Albert Pujols. Check the sig. Can't go wrong with dkgojackets' logic. Real talk.

I don't even know how this thread became what it became, but I guess a title like this is sure to draw up controversy. It just seems highly likely that Utley could win the NL MVP this year, and I want to be the first to make it official that he is going to do it.

I guess Howard didn't deserve the MVP in 2006, and Pujols should have got it. There's probably a thread like that somewhere or was.

It's not just Holliday, there's 4 or 5 guys I would have probably picked over Rollins. If I was only allowed to choose from Phillies players I'd pick Utley over him and possibly even Howard.

Utley had the award in his pocket until he got injured. Which is why many people think he'll win the award this year. If he has another season like last year, minus the injury, the only thing that will stand in the way of him winning the MVP will be anti-Phillies bias so we don't win three MVP awards in a row.

But really, why the hell should anyone care about that. It's not like we're winning championships....

Exactly before the MVP award it was the HR Derby. We have 10,000 + losses for crying out loud.

Yep, every outfielder puts up those kind of numbers.

And Citizen's Bank isn't exactly a pitchers park. And his numbers aren't even comparable to Hanley Ramirez, who destroys all of his numbers.
